    I first read about Eastman's injury on The Times boxingblog. Does this reporting considered tabloid or internet, as Ron Lewis writes for The Times [proper]. Although I have to agree with Bunce, that some clown jumped the gun in relation to actual extent of injuries suffered.

    Really hope Gilbert Eastman makes a full recovery. Dreadful situation for his loved ones so my thoughts go out to them - must be a tough time for his opponent Sam Webb too.

    I agree... any news yet anyone? Had a quick scan online nothing so far. I'm sure he'll be ok... We've had a few recent incidents in the UK that have all come out very well for the fighters involved.

    Aparently the operation was a success. Hopefully he'll suffer no long term effects.

    Very sad news. But was Gilbert denied a license before because of a shadow detected on his brain?

    I agree, always a tough time for an opponent under these circumstances. I hope that Gilberts injuries aren't too serious and he makes a full recovery ASAP.
