I don't se race when a black man and a whit eman fight. I just see the skills being displayed and make my judgement from there.

There is clearly a double standard today in what Blacks and Whites can say to one another (for obvious historical and politcally correct reasons). People who claim that stereotypes usually have a grain of truth to them and that therefore this justifies what Hops said to Pavlik about Black fighters, better be able to accept the myriad of stereotypes (along with empirical evidence) that, amongst other things, link Blacks with stupidity and violent crimes. If you wish to play the honesty game, let`s drop the double standards and allow pasty white people like Pavlik to express their race tinged stereotypes, on national television.

I totally understood the intent and could not admire "the Executioner" more for having made this gesture. What a class act. An example that should be noted and followed by all champs.

The only problem I have is that if the roles had been reversed and it had been Kelly Pavlik magnanimously advising Bhop or any beaten black (or any color ,even white) opponent to do-whatever like a white fighter, he'd be instantly crucified and run out of the sport along with anybody even remotely associated with him.

Which has absolutely nothing to do w/Hopkins, btw.

Anybody have a problem with that?

I didn't find anything Bernard said remotely offensive.

You thought that **** was bad? Just wait another 15 days until a Black Man schools a White man, politically. It's going to be like Johnson beating the **** out of Jeffries, all over again.

he was racist against Calzaghe and he got beat in that one, what is new about his personal beliefs. The guy is proud of who he is and fights with a legendary style, who cares about his racial beliefs, this is boxing.

Ya, Maybe He Just Has Trouble Getting Out What He Is Thinking. We All Know What He Meant And It Is True.

My Thing Is I Hope People Realize That Pavlik Just Acts Himself. He Is True. He Isn't Fake. He Is White, Acts White, Listens To White Music And Still Gets Respect Because He Is Real. He Does Need To Act Or Talk Black To Get Respect. He Doesn't Need To **** His Hat Sideways And Sag His Pants To Act Like He Is Down. He Gets Respect From Hopkins For Being Real. Thats Respect!

Maybe Hopkins Will Go To Youngstown And Give Pavlik An Apollo Creed Style Training! I Like Both Of Them. Pavlik's 26 He Has Aolt Of Time On His Hands To Improve, And He Still Has Power. Its Just Starting.

So does this mean one day we'll see Kelly and Bernard running down a beach together?

"A legendary style" Run, clinch like a ***** and land pot shots against bloated opposition, and cry and whine when someone hits the back of his ol' Peanut head.

yo its not even realistic to imagine ... you cant say WHAT IF KELLY PAVLIK TOLD BHOP TO FIGHT MORE LIKE A WHITE FIGHTER...

white fighters dont fight any particular way.... and if they did it wouldnt contribute to improving bhop's skill set....

if white fighters were more offensive and faught with a certain skill... and that skill was missing from bhops skill set.... it wouldnt even be an issue

yo i swear i was imagining that as bhop was talking to kp....

that would be so ****ing dope!!!

pavlik would have to go to philly though....

him and jack lowe take their act to philly with bhop & naz in a showdown with winky....

it would make for a dope 24/7!!

Bernard Hopkins meant "GBP fighters" not "Black Fighters" James Toney is 1000 times more Black than Hopkins can ever hope to be and the man fights FEARLESS.

Bhop was very respectful of Pavlik after the fight. He called him a "heavy handed dangerous fighter". He also looked into Kelly's eyes and gave him very good, heart to heart advice, boxer to boxer. He told Kelly to "bend his legs" and "listen to your corner" and that he'd go up to Youngstown and hit him with a baseball bat if he didn't. Pavlik soaked up the free advice from this all time great.

Bhop just can't get past the ghetto vocabulary, that's all. He told Merchant that what motivates him is the "naysayers" or people that tell he he can't do something.
