Why do people have a problem with Joe Calzaghe?

Calzaghe is a great fighter and always has been. The hate is from anto europeans. Let them hate and enjoy the Klitschkos and Calzaghe.

 

Well Calzaghe is not in his prime either. Two way street smokey.

 

Calslappy has been been cherry pickin for the majority of his career, he could have challeged Hopkins and Jones a long time ago when both were alot better, just look how long it took him to take care of business at SMW, I respect what he did to Lacy and Kessler but he just started taken care of bussiness after Lacy. That is why he is not respected as much as Toney was when he was the man at 168, or RJJ.

 

He's a southpaw, he slaps, what's there to like?

 

I must be in the minority then because I specifically remember when Lewis beat razor ruddock and was very interested in Lewis, we all know what happen after the fact.

It took Lewis roughly what 5 years to become undisputed? In that time anyone in the world can regonize the names on his resume anyone.


Now look at calzaghe. From the time he became the WBO champion to the time he was undisputed? Not sure here if it was ever accomplished..maybe when he fought kessler..which is what 11 years?


It took lewis 4 years to win the WBC. It took calzaghe the same to win the WBO. But what happened after this time is why calzaghe is no lennox lewis. This kills his all time status.

Calzaghe was an over protected figher, blame warren. He defended the WBO and never unified, never stepped out of his division to fight other world fighers until recently. Now he may be too old. Calzaghe's resume is filled with WBO mandatory defenses. Not much more.

Resumes determine all time status. calzaghe will never be a lennox lewis and the biggest shame is he has the skills to have really been a world phenom.
