That's what Hopkins does. Their fighter lost, and he wasn't supposed to lose. They have to come up with something except for admtting to the fact that he simply outclassed their fighter in the "Sweet Science".

Its getting ******ed. All this 166 and 170. Why don they just fight at 168. That is the whole reason the 168 class was created, was for guys to have somewhere to fight inbetween 160 and 175. All this 2 lb ****:dead

Aside from the biggest factor of the fight which was Hopkins' incredible skill, i think weight did play an issue. The 170 lb catch weight seems to allow Hopkins to be a bit more busier and active. He threw 600+ against Winky and 530 against Pavlik. Both at 170 catchweights.

On the flip side, i think the additional extra lbs did affect Pavlik's crispness in his punches. But again, this is after conceding to the obvious and biggest factor in this fight which was Hopkins incredible skill.

Pavlik is a middleweight and should remain there. I see no shame involved here. Hell, for $3mil. I'll fight Kimbo Slice and let the cat have a pair of ****in' nunchucks.

    I personally despise catchweight bouts.

What does beating someone at 166 or 170 really prove? I mean just imagine how much more praise Hopkins would be getting had he beaten Pavlik at Middleweight for the titles rather then at 170

granted it's a moot point, as most likely B-Hop woulda done the same thing even at Middleweight

but still, they make weight classes for a reason, and Pavlik's the Universally recognized Middleweight Champ

I know for a fact I would have cared about this fight a whole lot more if it was at 160 rather then 170.

I had said somewhere that this was a no win fight for Kelly to take. If he won he would have beaten a past prime older guy, and if he lost well, we have that result.

Hopefully he can learn and adapt from it, but Loew isn't the trainer to do it. Kelly and Loew had ZERO adjustments last night. Not that they would have mattered, but nonetheless ZERO.

Weight wasn't an issue, though it didn't help him. He was just schooled

10 pounds can make a big difference, but the main issue was Hopkins outclassing him.
