was barrett the fight the fans wanted?

It was mentioned quite a bit on the general when Barrett called Haye out. People were saying he should fight Barrett after the Fields KO. When Haye took the fight people decided he was a bum.

I had hoped for someone like Golota or Maskaev rather than Barrett.

 

I believe it is was. Especially cos Barrett blasted Fields and was proven. Everyone else was not proven or a bit overrated in their own minds i.e. Rahman and Toney.

They were saying he was ducking whoever he looked less likely to fight on any particular day to be fair, so we can't read too much into that.

IMO, Barrett falls within the range of acceptable opponents.

 

Barrett was the best of the available.

 

Peter Sam is who I wanted him to fight. According to Bunce and Maloney, Haye was offered this fight and said no thank you as the money was not too great.

 

Barrett has become a gatekeeper. Haye has to look good and him TFO to get his dues.

 

I felt that Haye and Booth painted themselves into a corner during the negoiations.

 

Did Bunce and Maloney give any clue as to how Peter was planning to handle the four week gap between getting beaten up by Vitali and getting beaten up by Haye?

Consensus: The majority of the General Forum dislike David Haye.

 

The majority of the General Forum are Americans who dislike everything but especially European things.

I think Barrett is a good opponent, no-one can say the guy is a bum or a cherry picked fighter, he is a potentially dangerous opponent for Haye.
