He's obviously still in shock. He admitted Hopkins gave him a lesson.

WTF else do you want him to do?

He's down and beaten. Calzaghe is calling him a complete fraud. Hopkins is lecturing him after the fight.

Jesus, it doesn't get much worse than this.

I think most of the posters are being way too hard on Kelly. I blame his trainer, Jack Loew for not preparing this guy for the enigma that is Bhop...he was too confident going into the fight...there was too much disruptive talk between Jack and Enzo about a possible fight with Calzaghe. Team Pavlik's first mistake was completely overlooking B-hop. When they realized how effective B-hop was smothering Kelly's punches and using lateral movement to keep Kelly off balance, they panicked. They never thought they would need a plan B...Jack kept telling Kelly the same idiotic advice, "use the double F***ing jab!!"

He should have told him to use the Kostya Tszyu method of cutting off the ring and pot-shotting his opponents with the straight right. This always worked well against mobile fighters with good lateral movement.

In my opinion, Jack is the real problem.

Kelly should feel no shame in losing to a future hall of famer and possible ATG.

**** everyone jumping off the train. Obviously Kelly did not look good, and B-Hop beat him. But, he stayed on his feet for twelve rounds not giving up. Nobody on the board with the exception of Ding can say that. Hell, not even ODLH or Tito can say that.

Kelly will be back at middleweight and rule the division. I feel sorry for Rubio.

He didn't even admit that Hopkins beat him. You heard what he said, it wasn't him in there. Accoring to Pavlik, it wasn't Hopkins' slickness or athleticism that won him the fight, it was simply a case of Pavlik not being himself. Maybe he should try for a rematch and hope that some alien doesn't take over his body again.

Correct. He used the same ol' line guys use who have too much pride to accept defeat and said "I ain't got any excuses, but it just wasn't me in there, it wasn't my night, I just couldn't get my punches off or throw my right"... He might as well have said he had a cast on each arm and was fighting Hopkins out of a wheelchair. But then again, "he aint got any excuses".

If he thinks he didn't perform, doesn't that mean he bottled the fight.

He was totally outclassed and left without any answers. He had no answers during the fight, and seemingly had no answers after the fight. He couldn't get off his punches because he was getting countered and because Hopkins wasn't simply standing right in front of him to get hit. It's amazing that this guy has been able to do what he wanted in his other 34 fights against mostly bums but was shutdown when he faced a multi dimensional, legit HOFer. That was definately Pavlik in there, he definately showed up. However, he was reduced to looking like a rank amateur against the Living Legend.

He made alot of excuses and did alot of whining. My standards don't allow for that. I won't allow myself that kind of weakness either, so know I'm fair and consistent.
