Before the Kelly Pavlik vs Bernard Hopkins fight, i went on record saying that James "Lights Out" Toney was the only Old School active fighter left in the game. His technically skills, how he shoulder rolls, fights in the pockets, users angels. I still say that James Toney is still the best technically fighter left in the game today, because no matter how out of condition he comes into to fight.

"His skills and technically ability always..always surpass and dictate his fights"

James Toney could go 15 rounds, anywhere..anytime..!

Bernard Hopkins proved he is still old school, against Kelly Pavlik.

    "Slick-ness of a black fighter"

Also i believe Floyld Mayweather is another fighter who can fight "Old School"

    My question is..

Is Roy Jones old school..can he fight old school. Because Roy Jones..... in his career has been so great offensively and so fast, superman like powers. Roy Jones has not had to think about being "Old School"

But can Roy Jones fight "Old School" is this a dimension to his game....

No, no he isnt. RJJ is a reflex fighter with fast hands. He just happened to have exceptional reflexes. Notice that I use past tense.

I agree. He still has the fast hands but his overall reflexes are not what they once were.

Unlike the old days, Roys legs now give out on him.

If Joe is having a decent fight, he could find some openings for a spectacular ending late on in the fight.

Me.....I've got a feeling it's gonna' be closer than people think, but it mght just be getting caught up in the hype of a possible Roy-B-Hop 2!

I want Calzaghe to win. But now there's no chance of a Pavlik fight, I'd like to get the chance to see Roy-B-Hop 2. So, if Joe C does lose, I'll be a bit devestated for a while; then the thought of Hopkins-Jones 2 will come back to me and I'll know the right thing has happened :)

to me hes the complete OPPOSITE of an old school fighter....

to me, an old school fighter is someone who is an actual GOOD FIGHTER, check GREAT FIGHTER.... meaning smarts, skills, the amplification and execution OF those skills... they are TRUE FIGHTERS.

Roy is someone who outclasses opponents with the physical gifts hes had... those gifts diminished a BIT and look where hes at today

Hopkins physicial gifts have diminished and look at him... THAT is a real fighter TO ME, to just give someone twice as much speed, reflexes and power then you and they will beat you.... doesnt mean anything to me accept that they are a powerful physical specimen, doesnt really tell me a lot about them as a FIGHTER.

Hopkins, Toney (even though Toney is physically supremely gifted as well, but he has ability to back that up) even mayweather to an extent i suppose.... but roy? not at all close, in my opinion.

Michael Vick is a great athlete. Therefore he'd probably beat the majority of elite boxers based purely on athleticism as well.

NO WAY RJJ beats calzaghe...HOW...who has ever beat in his life especially since he has left his prime...he got smoked by johnson and tarver...he was a great talent in his prime but he wasted it fighting bums and putting on a show...now he is way past his prime and is nowhere near what he used to be...his reflexes are shot and he at best will just plain get outworked by calzaghe....calzaghe should have taken a real fight...BHOP will beat jones too although stylewise it is a better fight for jones

he hasnt proven he could can do that since the KO's he suffered...he may have his fast flashes and counter like BHOP did but when it cmes down to it he can NOT outwork or even outbox a fighter like calzaghe
