I really believe size is the crucial factor in this fight, if Povetkin was 6'4" this would be an open ball game, but it isn't. If Povetkin can't land that lucky shot (which I don't think he will), it will be a one sided fight leading to a late TKO/KO in the mid rounds in favor of Klitschko.

 

It's a big ask!

Unless he is a lot better than he was against Chambers and Wlad has an off night...

This is Wlad's fight to win or lose...if he takes povetkin as seriously as he should, he should have no problem dispatching Povetkin. But, if he takes him lightly and overlooks his opponent, Povetkin is good enough to knock him out. This is a potentially dangerous opponent that can't be overlooked!!

 

Quite a few of you guys seem to forget that Povetkin was a superstar at the amateurs who twice won the gold medal at the olympics and who hadnt lost a single amateur fight for ages before he turned pro.He doesnt even know what the word loss stands for.
He for sure wont be a sparring partner for Wlad.He will give hell to Wlad who had better keep his nose to the grindstone and sweat in the gym or he will be in for a big surprise.
Povetkin is no fat and lazy Sam Peter who-by the way-didnt dare to cross Povetkin's shadow at the amateurs.

 

I like Povetkin....a ton...but this is horrible management by his team. He should have cleaned up everyone else.

Even if he nullifies Wlad's jab, Wlad is one of the most impressive offensive heavyweights in the history of boxing. He can easily adjust to the lead left hook or a straight right hand.

Sparring partners won't matter. Lennox and the Klits have always been impossible to prepare for...there is nobody else like them.

Povetkin needs to either hope Wlad gets gassed, which would mean he would take an unbelievable amount of punishment....or....he needs to hope Wlad has a super off night and doesn't adjust mid fight like he did against Brock.

 

Valuev would be a good sparring partner.
