I favour nobody over Foster at lhw. Nobody. There are a few guys who have a 50/50 chance but not more. Hopkins at his absolute peak would have 20% chance at best I think. Foster was a machine at lhw like Monzon was at mw.

I go for Foster on points, big a puncher as he is, I don't see him stopping Hopkins.

hopkins started at 160, but it doesn't matter, beuase he became a strong lightheavyweight. Was Oscar small at 147 because he started at 130 ? some people can grow up weights well. Look at Guillermo Jones for example, he started at 154 and became a big puncher at cruiserweight.

Bernard Hopkins is not getting knocked out by anyone 175 pounds and south. Forget about it. He was never really hurt in his career and especially against punchers, he never lets them land a good clean punch on him.

Foster may win a decision, if Bernard feels his power and becomes defensive. But in my opinion, Bernard can stick and move his way to a close decision.

Foster is the most overated light heavyweight in history by far. Too slow, too dependant on his jab and reach. Hopkins will take his jab away, and easily outboxes him to a decision.

    Hopkins via razor-thin UD.

I think Foster is terribly overrated around these parts, and I don't think anybody should bet on beating Hopkins by knocking him out.

Hopkins takes away the jab and ekes out a decision. Could easily go the other way, though...but I can't see Hopkins getting stopped by someone as predictable as Foster.

Watch more of Foster, because it sounds as it you've either not seen enough of him or you just haven't taken the time out to study him. He was one of the craftiest punchers in LHW history, which is an extremely dangerous combination when taking into account his awesome power.

Hopkins is the one who's getting terribly overrated. But what else is new?

Watch Foster against whom? Against Rondons and Quarrys? It took him almost full 4 rounds to finally catch 38-year old Dick Tiger, who was never known as defensive genius in the first place.

Hopkins clearly lost to Calzaghe. Then beats a Green Pavlik. Now he's Compared to Foster?! Foster by brutale knockout in the eighth round.

People forget, or weren't around at the time, especially with all this hooplah about Hopkins lately, what a monster Bob Foster was. Sure he feasted on 70's lightheavies, but in ANY era he would have still been the Preying Mantis from Mars in my opinion. As long as he wasn't fighting a heavyweight, no one was safe. The ignorant among us should reference 3 vids, and they are, Foster-Tiger, Foster-Quarry and Foster-Rondon.

I give Bernard Hopkins all credit in the world for beating Pavlik, but really, I knew in my heart that he would do so way before the fight. The straight-ahead, 2-dimensional goods that Pavlik would bring to the table weren't going to cut it, I decided. I wasn't surprised at all, and at his age, Hopkins did very well, but that don't put him in the company of Monzon and Foster, both of whom would have denied him titles in their respective divisions.
