Roy Jones: "I don't care what people say. i'm not fighting him".

Yeah, if I was Roy I wouldn't fight him either. There's a reason that Hopkins wants the fight and Roy doesn't. Jones better worry about Calzaghe - and I'm sure he is. That's all the trouble he can ask for the way he's been.

 

Bhop put on a freak show. I doubt joe or jones would want to tackle that version of bhop who actually throws punches.

 

he only put on that "freak show" because pavlik let him get away with it,it would not happen like that with joe ,as he would not let hopkins get away with it.
different fighters fight different styles and pavlik was not suitable to fight hopkins style.
pavlik would have put up a better performance against joe due to styles,but joes style does not suit hopkins one bit and calz would win again.

 

And this is a big surprise? Roy knows if he were to fight the Light Heavyweight version of Bhop he would get knocked out cold. Roy is just doing what he has been doing his whole career and that is making excuses and avoiding fights.

 

He'll be begging Hopkins for a fight after Calzaghe beats him. Who else is there for him?

 

Just hyping a possible fight if he gets by Calzaghe, I'm damn sure he will fight Hopkins IF(a big one) he beats Calzaghe.

 

Yeah, why people don't get this is beyond me. Hopkins put on a masterclass against Pavlik, and Tarver, because they allowed him to. Calzaghe most certainly did not, and Hopkins was utterly discouraged by round 9.

I know man. Me and my old man watched it and it was a schooling. Every moron keeps saying "if calzaghe had faced this version and on.." some people just dont get the sweet science.

 

I think the Hopkins that fought Calzaghe wasnt as physically fit as the one that fought Pavlik. Hopkins legs and movement wasn't that good and he got tired faster than usual(i think it might have to do with the trainer and training for that fight). Either way Calzaghe is a really hard fighter to beat but that night I think Hopkins wasn't at his best physically.

Why people bashing Roy? BHOP obviously didn't want to fight him in 2001, Roy offered 60-40, which was fair, and he didn't took it.
Roy is fighting a harder fight in Calzaghe, and now he's scared?
