Yeah, he definitely is not very skillful, but I think he CAN be effective and prevail when fighting the best, as his two wins over a good, skilled champion like Taylor proved.
And most of the time, when one uses the word "bum" in here, it is to describe a no good fighter, hence my objection to you calling him a bum. :good

Floyd was selling 350k ppv vs Baldomir...Gatti wasn't making the money Floyd made off lessor opponents...

De La Hoya made his best numbers against Floyd and so did Hatton. Do you think Hatton-Malignaggi will have the buzz Floyd-Hatton did?

Floyd was making greater than 8 mil per fight before DLH...Hatton was not. I know you would like believe Floyd or Hopkins income has nothing to do with them but thats completely fiction...

well the difference between pavlik and hopkins, is that hopkins was already up there before even fighting pavlik. pavlik has a looooooooong way to go before achieving half of what hopkins has already achieved.

    get over it people

Pavlik has a chance of growing his star again, but it won't be easy. Alot of people are really apathetic right now.

You compared B-Hop's stardom to Pavlik's at 26 with ring earnings for only measure of stardom. That doesn't work.

First off the unit of measure is wrong when comparing athletes from different age groups because of the different economical factors. By your logic, any average boxer fighting nowadays would be ahead of ATG's like SRL, Duran, Hagler and Hearns because 'he's making more money'.

Two, opportunities or lack thereof will play a significant role in one boxer's fame. Lack of competition in a specific weight division may give a prospect access to championship bouts at a younger age than another prospect who would need to climb his way up in a competitive weight division.

Three, media coverage. Ever heard McLuhan's catch phrase: 'The medium is the message?' You're as big as media willingness to showcase you.

Four, it's Thusday and I'm gonna get my knob shined by Schmoopsie-poo of Montreal Wiener Warmers.

Looking on the bright side at least Pavlick's chin held up.
