That 117-111 in the second fight is almost as crazy as 113-115 to Evander in the first! IMO the first fight was 116-112 or 117-111 to Lennox, the second was 115-113 to Lennox.
I agree, bollocks, but not because he was robbed. Lewis was given the decision against Evander because Lewis was the new fighter HBO was marketing and everyone knows, all you have to do is survive as an HBO fighter and you get the decision. When crazy-ass Riddick Bowe beat Holyfield, he beat him clearly. No jabbing and phantom dominance. In the fight against Lewis, Holyfield was the one coming forward with effective body work etc,etc.. Now Lewis got in a couple of uppercuts and some clean jabs, but for the most part his most effective ploy of both fights was clinching and hitting while holding behind the head. He's totally overrated. Cherry-picked fights all throughout the 90's claiming the purses weren't fair. Well guess what? So what! Take the fight and prove why someone should pay you more. He won't take another fight with Holyfield because he knows Holyfield will come to fight not dance. I see why Steward was always frustrated with Lewis, he doesn't want to risk anything in a fight. Hell he even insisted Tyson be medicated during promotional to avoid any crazy antics. It worked. Tyson looked like a mannequin in the fight, just like Lewis loves. Every time Tyson even hinted at aggression, Lewis went back to the clinch and hit. I will say he has good boxing skills and good power. But, he ranks behind Holyfield, Bowe, Tyson in fighters of his era. If he wanted to show some heart, fight big-brother Klitchko. I bet he won't do that one either. Hell, even little-brother Klitchko has developed well enough to beat Lewis, perhaps even in Lewis's prime.
