What's going on with Shannon Briggs????

What's your interest with that "pineapple head"?

The last time I saw him fight . . . he defended his belt by throwing 10 punches per round.

I like Shan the man, but if he does not start fighting again he might have waited too long. Does anyone know if he is training right now?

 

I don't know for certain, but I reckon he isn't.

He's basically semi-retired now, he said as much just a couple months after the Ibragimov loss. Unless he gets something that really really interests him, like a primetime fight against a contender or a big payday, I don't think he'll come back.

I don´t see him get a big payday if he does not start making some tune-up fights. Thats rubbish. Shannon is now 36 years old, with the help of Don King he could have had the chance to fight Valuev. Shannon could easily box another 2 or 3 years.
Damn shame.

 

atsch That was actually a winnable fight for him at this point.

 

He'll probably fight some journeyman type opponents and get a title shot that way once again.

I like him too. I don't think he is currently training, but I sure hope he gets his ass in gear and starts. He will accomplish nothing unless he rededicates himself to the sport.

He's 300+ pounds and never fighting again, that's what's going on with him. He throws 4 punches a round and gets tired after the first 5 punches he throws. That's also going on with him.
