    Here is the video.

    http://www.rds.ca/video/visionneuse.html

Click "Boxe" on the left and then "Topo Bute Contreverse".

1- Andrade went to the wrong corner.

2- Then the ref tells him to go back to the neutral corner after Andrade walks halfway across the ring.

I think I have been very objective about the whole thing. I'm everything but a nuthugger.

Yeah, man. You have been one of the few voices of reason on a histrionic message board. When people don't have an argument (or lack the ability to put one forth) they get angry and abusive, and they start using cliches about balls and nuthugging and sack swinging. Ignore it.

whats the rule? so does he just have to beat the count or does he have to beat the count and the ref has to determine he is able to continue?

if its the former then he was up in 9 seconds, he beat the count and it should go to the scorecards.

but if its the latter, bute was absolutely not able to continue.

    wats the rule?

He has to stand up and his gloves can't touch the ground.

    That's it.

Thanks Maxime. I don't blame Andrade for being stupid in this situation - he already felt that the ref did everything in his power to aid Bute throughout the match - and rightfully so. He wanted to be ready to finish it off. Remember boxers don't have a timer.

There is no doubt in my mind that ref used whatever within his power to aid Bute, and his nitpicking concerning where Andrade was, may be legit, but he should have focused on counting - he wasn't. I think this is what angers most people - incl me.

Andrade was not stupid, he knew that time was running out.

I agree. It's pretty clear that he started walking toward Bute as soon as Bute got up. He knew there was only a few seconds left and he wanted to be ready to hit Bute as soon as the ref would resume the fight.

Unfortunately, it is against the rules to leave the neutral corner until the count is over the ref resumes the fight.

Remember Mosley-Mayorga? It was a perfect example of a referee not doing his job.

I added more before your post, but yes and no. It is still stupid no matter what way you look at it. Yes, it is understandable, but still stupid.

Bottom line is the fight was noncontroversial and there should be a rematch. Nothing more, nothing less.

    Everyone wins with a rematch.

Bute gets to clear all doubts that he is the better fighter.

    Andrade gets his revenge.

The fans gets to see another great fight.

This doesn't make much sense, Maxime . How can Bute prove he is a better fighter, and in the same breath let Andrade get his revenge?

He took a few steps so he really never left the corner fully for the ref to stop the count. I am incline to agree with him.
