If I were kessler I would take the wright fight. Winky would def fight kessler in the states for mikkel's WBA 168 belt. It would be a money fight for kessler if HBO promoted it w/ a 24/7 series and it's an intriguing match-up. Kessler would be able to demand 50/50 with wright on the money end, and we know winky needs the fight/dough, so this fight should get the hardcore and casual fans attention and the networks on board. I also think stylewise it makes for an intriguing match-up. I mean, afterall. If wright/hops landed on ppv, then this fight is at least worthy of an HBO WCB telecast. Right?
Kessler is the truth and I don't see anybody beating him at 168 even the man in my avatar won't beat but will give him a good fight,eventually Kessler is going to have to move up to 175 to find some real comp for him to compete with because he is head and shoulders above everyone at 168.
I think that if they play their chips right, in 18 to 24 months Kessler vs Dawson could be one of those USA vs Europe matchups for the ages. thoughts?
I heard they offered the fight to winky and that he wanted 3-4 mill. us$. Apparently that was more than HBO and team Palle would pay. I think that if Winky thinks he can win, he should go for it. It would be nice that he was Two division champion and he would have something extra to bargain with for the next big fight.
Kessler said he will not consider moving anywhere until all four belts are unified. and if that happens in the next few year he may move to MW, because he could make 160 easily. So, I think it is unrealistic to imagine Kessler to go to LHW for at least the next five years.
Kessler can't make MW - he had a bodyfat% of below 5% for the Clazaghefight - and he had to drop his undies to make 168... noway he is making 160...
