    "the infamous white boy confrontation"..

    he looked straight into Hopkins eye and gave him a direct command "IF YOU FIGHT ME YOU WILL LOSE" note right after that Bernard's facial expression and the way he backs up one step. He was very intimidated/unsure of Joe, albeit in a very subtle way.

    joes mental strength is his greatest asset it placifies him to an extent of almost uber self control/coolness,if they fought again hopkins would lose again.
