As far as I can remember Bute just went life and death with a guy that Kessler totally outboxed from start to finish. Not that it means the world :rofl
Kessler was very tired too after his fight against Andrade. And I don't think a Kessler-Bute fight would have the same pace than when Andrade is there. So without the fatigue at the end, is there a so big difference between Kessler and Bute against Andrade? With Andrade being better now, I'm not so sure. And remember Andrade was taylormade for Kessler. Maybe Kessler is made for Bute. Kessler doesn't like fast southpaws, does he?
Again by boxing rules it does not matter if Andrade left his corner stood on his head or did crack Bute won fair and square. Yes the ref should never be allowed in the ring again but Bute won end of story.
Why? Unless he robbed Andrade or actively and willingly prevented him from winning the fight, why should he never be allowed in the ring again? If referees like Joe Cortez, Terry O'Connor and Mickey Vann for example, can still keep refereeing, why shouldn't Marlon B. Wright? Seriously, what did he do (so) wrong?:think
He did NOT know the rules! Mainly that Wright turned what should have been a ten count into almost a 30 count IMO is why he should never work again. Did it matter? No of course not but but next time it might. Cortez? Yeah, I agree that guy IS the worse:fire
I am afraid you didn't watch the fight! The "long count" wasn't almost 30 seconds long; it was exactly 20 seconds long. I am also afraid it is you who doesn't know the rules. Here is what rule 4 says: "When a contestant has been knocked down, the referee will order the standing contestant to the farthest neutral corner and begin the count. If the contestant standing leaves the corner before the count has been completed, the referee shall discontinue the count and order the standing contestant back into the corner. The count will not resume until the standing contestant has returned to the neutral corner." http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/userfiles/File/IBF-USBA%20Bout%20Rules.pdf The referee applied this law to the letter. The only time the referee went against the rules in the fight was when he restarted his count from the same second he had discontinued it on - he counted "6" twice.
I can't believe you people are actually trying to defend the corruption in this match. Fans like you all make boxing what it is today, because you don't tell the promotors and the sanctioning bodies that crap like this isn't ok. No, instead you turn around and try to defend their actions if a fighter you like was the one cheated for. Pathetic.
Not defending anything. Just saying what the rules were and what happened. Did the better man win on the night? Maybe, maybe not. But according to the rules, the right man won. Was it a good fight? Yeah! Was it a good fight even though Andrade couldn't get the headline KO right at the end? I think so. Only pathetic thing is that so much has been written about rules and regulations and technicalities, instead of about how exciting the fight was, and that people overreact and call it a robbery without knowing the rules and having watched the fight, imo. Yeah, it might have been a nicer story if Andrade had gotten the KO, right at the end, after being dominated in the fight, but why was boxing made worse of by the fact Bute beat the count and the referee went by the letter and spirit of the law, where it really mattered? :huh My last post on the subject because even I am very tired of it. I'll only talk about this fight where the actual fight is concerned, not the referee or whether it was a fair decision or not.:good
In life, sometimes you hve to overcome your first impressions. Clearly, you're not able to do it. I'm beginning to be tired of people calling for cheating and robberies and corruption every time their fighter doesn't win. If you don't accept the rules (and that includes there is a referee in charge), why do you watch professionnal boxing? That corruption stuff is bull****, it's the first impression I had too. All the other referees interviewed after the fight said Bute had won. The rules say Bute won. Even Yvon Michel, who is the opponent promoter of Interbox and works with the Grant's brothers, said Andrade was not robbed. What's pathetic is people repeating the bull**** Showtime commentators started, without even knowing the IBF rules. That can be called a bias and for professionnals, it's not forgivable. You want to talk about corruption? What about the blackmail Golden Boy promotion did, they would not figh that night unless Andrade can put other gloves than what the contract said? Two hours before the bout, when 16 000 people are already there? Do you really think Interbox is a big machine capable of buying everyone. Interbox is a small organization. Golden Boy is rich. Who the hell do you think can buy the IBF? It's easier to say the first thing that comes through your mind than think and inform yourself I guess.
Actually what you are saying applies not only to this situation but pretty much every situation in life. I had the same interpretation as most at first but after I reviewed the rules and video evidence I had no choice but to accept that there was no roberry and that the ref actually did a good job! It sucks but it's true! By the way those Showtime guys were way out of line at the end of the fight! That the ref is catching so much heat and that they are getting off scott free pisses me off big time!
Please ................. From round one he let Bute hold and grab. He was aloud to do that the hole fight. (Everybody in the world knew, that Andrade chance of wining was on the inside) When Bute was hurt in the 4/5 round, ref took time off to tell Andrade to not hit so hard! Later in the fight, every time Bute was under pressure, the ref called "break". In the last round, the ref should have stopped the fight. Instead he called a break every time Andrade came close to Bute, and when the fight continued, the ref was running in front of Andrade to keep him from throwing his right hand. And when the kd happen the good ref counted to 24, just to be sure there were not to be any controversies. Of cause - if you are a Bute fan, who don't care much about boxing, this was a great win. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy HELLLLLL Bute is GOOOOODDDDD:yikes :yikes
More and more people now think Andrade was not robbed. You will never accept the result, we know it. I'm a Bute fan and I think he won, but I don't think it's a great win. I don't know a single Bute's fan who doesn't want a rematch. I think it's more honest than your trashtalking.
Yeah and I'm sure that when Andrade used his elbows, headbutted or did a rabbit punch you were the first to stand up and say that the ref was wrong to ignore that and should have deducted points off Andrade! But let's not mention that cause it does not help your case, you just go ahead and ***** and distort the facts so they can fit your point of view! I pitty you buddy, I really do! P.S. Look, I can use smileys too!! I am big boy too!!:huh:rofl:?atsch:twisted::shock::hat:dead:-(hi::bbb:tired:blurp:verysad:barf:-blood:hi::smooch:firenono:tong:happy
Nice smilies gallery! I agree with your comment. First, Andrade's fans started to say he was robbed at the end of the 12th round. After a lot of informations, rules, videos, photos, etc., they said the ref should have stopped the fight 30 seconds before the end. Now, they're bitching the refereing from the start of the fight. What next? It's not like if Andrade was close on the scorecards, things were not going anywhere for him, except, and tha'ts the irony, when Bute was clinching. Andrade had his best moments at that times, landing good uppercuts. So the clinching helped Andrade, because otherwise, the guy was completely lost in the ring. Except for the 5th and 12th rounds, of course. What do they think of Bernard Hopkins? Bute was not clinching at all compared to Bernard. And please stop complaining about the ref letting bute clinch and then complaining the ref was separated the fighters. You have to choose one of the 2 options guys.
