Horse****, Calzaghe made a mockery of his own style and he's still embarrassed. Joe is wounded about what he showed in the Hopkins fight. He's ashamed of it. That's why he's talking about these "pitty pat punches," as he put it.. That's why he's talking about "proving how good he is," and why he intends to "show his boxing skills and footwork" against Jones - because he did nothing of the sort against Hopkins.

What is Joe supposed to say about the Roy fight? That he's not going show his boxing skills? That he's going to prove how bad he is?

The Calzaghe/Hopkins fight was a bad fight to watch, mostly because of Bernard's spoiling and non-fighting. I'd be embarrassed if I was part of that show too. At least Joe can give an honest assessment about it. Bernard, on the other hand, is in constant spin mode, not unlike a certain conversative leaning party and its leadership in this country. It makes me want to :barf .

 

Yes, san rafael does have a degree in psychology, in fact. BTW, when Calzaghe is talking about both fights in the same breath there isn't much mystery about it. No need for a specialist.
