very slim I would think. That stoppage was a disgrace but how in the hell do you show up to a World Championship fight like Manfredo did and not throw any punches back? Manfredo is as much to blame as the shitty referee was.
Agreed, i still think there is a slim chance that when Joe opens up with his barrage of slaps and Jones realises there isnt 1 punch KO power there he could catch him with a power punch. Hopkins managed it
I like experts like you. SO simple. SO sure. I'm not sure who would have won that fight. But thanks to experts like you, now i know.
when was calzaghe's prime in his one top win against kessler? or when he was struggling w robin reid? or when he was beating euro club fighters? or when he was slapping himself to a very close disputed victory vs 43 year old hopkins? prime rjj would put calzaghe on his ass when joe was comming in flailing. rjj held every advantage, speed, power, reflexes (by wide margins) intelligence,....what else is there?
I don't know how you watch that and don't conclude he's an ATG. The man's whole prime career was a highlight reel. Amazing.
You OBVIOUSLY never saw PRIME RJJ... He won titles at 160, 168, and 175 while BARELY losing any rounds...Then, he stepped up and won the Heavyweight Belt (Yeah, it was Ruiz, but still a fantastic accomplishment). Calzaghe's fans always cite his stamina, speed, and punch output as reasons for his greatness. Guess what??? RJJ was MUCH faster, throwing MUCH harder punches, and never seemed to get tired. RJJ dominated HOFers, World Champions, Top contenders, and tomato cans haha... Joe Calzaghe's prime was when??? He spent from 1997 (after Eubank) to 2006 (before Lacy) fighting unknowns, bums, tomato cans, etc. while defending a garbage belt in a weak division. He spent many of his prime years WASTING TIME... I've seen Calzaghe's fights from 5, 8, and 10 years ago...Watch some RJJ fights, and tell me how you see Calzaghe so much as laying leather on him... If you want to say RJJ is shot and has no chance against Calzaghe, I think you're wrong, but say it... If you think that Calzaghe could've even shined RJJ's shoes in his peak, you should be sent to a mental institution for further evaluation...:hi:
The exact same way Roy Jones showed up against Johnson......Its inevitable, if you don't throw punches you will be stopped.
