How long you've been a boxing fan? Power is the LAST thing that goes in a fighters career. The lack of KO's have been due to Joe's step up in competition. He's like wine...he ages well and is better with time, of course eventually he'll begin to fade more with age but At this point this is the best Joe period.

Despite putting him down twice with a torn bicep and then he just carried him. He could have finished him inside of 5 rounds.

Is it? or Jones and Hopkins' worst period in their careers? Joe is all ready fading and he never had power. His KO record is very misleading. He has only actually KO'd two fighters for the 10 count.

Joe definitly has power. I said joe is phyically fading but nothing that would warrant a title of him being shot faded to the point of the thought of retirement.

His style has changed a bit over time to combat his hand issues. The flurries, pitty pat punches for scoring is all flashy and technical. he uses it well...but to deny he has power is wrong. Plus it's harder to KO guys who are EQUAL in terms of talent, skill level and experience.

Joe just hasn't really been sitting down on his punches...he's cautious of injuring his hands......Believe me...if Joe had no power Jeff Lacy's face wouldn't have looked like he had been hit with about 10 large bags of nickels.

I know he has hand problems but you can't substitute chin for skill level and experience. Jones had skill and experience against Tarver and Johnson albeit he was faded a bit, but was still KO'd.

Lacy's face better have been busted up after that 12 round schooling. But Jeff wasn't even rocked during that whole masterclass. Joe's a good fighter but he has lacked power throughout his career. If you can show me otherwise, please do so.

The chin is the main thing that has me questioning Jones....I think if Johnson could KO jones then Joe could as well. I just have a gut feeling we'll see one last amazing preformance from RJJ.

You're right....Lacy was never rocked but Lacy has a proven chin...his neck and trap muscles are reinforced with soild mass so It would be hard to KO Jeff if you were Kelly PAV IMO.

Byron Mitchell! I believe he hurt his hand that fight too. But Joe got a pretty clean KO against a soild chinned foe in Byron.

calzaghe would beat roy even if he were to dress as a highland sheep chewing on a leek whilst singing land of our fathers with one hand holding a poster of charlotte church and the other frantically trying to exspel his italian/welsh beans all over the green green valleys....

jones is so past it that he predates the jurassic period..

If Joe had the power of Pavlik he would have atleast rocked him but he doesn't. The Mitchell fight was a flash KD perfectly placed punch that left him wobbly. He stopped him but didn't knock him outright.

Watch a few of his early fights. The lad definitely used his power in his early career. It was never earth-shattering but it was pretty decent. No feather-fist puts Eubank on his arse, ever.

Yep, Jones is my favorite fighter and I am scared shitless, I just hope he can somehow find a way to win, no matter how unlikely...:think
