Winky vs Diaconu at 175

    Who do you think would win a fight between them at 175. I think it's a interesting fight that has not really been discussed here. Also note that Diaconu and Winky are around the same height, Winky has a great chin and Diaconu probably has the edge in workrate.

    I do not even rate this guy very highly. I think Chad Dawson should fight him because I think he would win.

    I agree with iceferg.
    What has Diaconu shown against high level opposition?
    Henry is a solid opponent, but that was not an impressive win.

    People talking about Dawson ducking Diaconu need to remember that they were set to fight. It was Diaconu who claimed a hand injury, leading Dawson to fight E. Mendoza.

    The win over Hoye was nice. But Hoye's opposition is nothing grand either.

    However,
    I think this is a bad mach up for Winky.
    Winky's workrate isn't stellar. Unless he puts Diaconu down, I see Diaconu UDing him. If it's in the States, SDing him.

    Fact is, it's bad because Winky won't get big PPV bucks if such a fight was ever offered to him. I know he's at the end of his career, but he's still a greedy *****.

    Easy KO for Diaconu!!

    Diaconu would be the most powerful opponent Winky has ever faced.

    Chins= Even(both Iron)

    Ring Intelligence= Even(Both implore different styles but are tacticians)

    Timing and distance= Even, maybe a slight advantage to Winky(both styles necessitate good timing and distance(for Diaconu his physical limitations require this more than anything)

    Defense= Clearly Winky

    On paper this is an intriguing matchup however Diaconu is just to big sizewise and much too powerful.....I'm not sure but I can bet not too many 154 lbers would want Diaconu dropping bombs on their turtle shell......to get a visual, imagine what happens to a turtle crossing the road that gets hit by a car....splat
