prime jones vs prime calzaghe would not be a fair fight, this current version of jones should do just fine.his passed 3 fights showed what he had left and it should be enough to be joe.jones will probablly fight his ass of in this fight.
Although ill be supporting Roy, his last 3 fights haven't shown much at all. Calzaghe wouldn't have dropped rounds to those guys.
So you mean people like BIG George forman or a Edwin Valero. Then no...Joe isn't a ONE PUNCH KO artist, but he has power. Like I said before Joe's strength is his fast hands and punching combinations regarding his Offense....Power is secondary but its there. Bryon Mitchill actually has a very good set of whiskers and 'Wobbling" him takes power.......He had never been stopped before Joe but of course he never really faced anyone on Joe's level either.
:good Which was my point.....Joe just doesn't rely on his power b/c he doesn't really need it. At this point his skills, instinct and speed give him enough of an advantage to out class most of the opponents he's been in there with....
I'm not. You shouldn't base your thoughts of any fighter based on one common opponent. Dirrell is a young gun with a lot of speed and talent...similar to a young Roy Jones, but Anthony Hanshaw is a soild guy who lost to a Legend in Roy and found himself in there with an up and coming higly regarded prospect. Anthony gave a great preformance against jones...but he didn't look at all good in there with Direll...
LOL 3 yrs is A LOT in the sport of boxing... You have to know this! If you have been a follower of boxing for any length of time.
This is similar to the chances people gave to Dela Hoya, weeks leading to his fight against PBF, even though when it was first announced, people thought of it as a joke of a fight for Mayweather. People are giving a shot fighter in Jones a chance becasue they will watch it and they are hoping it will be competitive.
Yep. Watching Roy in his prime is ****ing incredible. I never get tired of watching him flash around the ring at his best.
