Conversely, if Mayweather pulled that stunt, I bet everyone who gave Morales props in this thread would be all over his case.


One man's "warrior" is the next guy's "classless piece of ****." These guys beat the **** out of each other for a living, so all of the discussion about who is or isn't a "good guy" and faux outrage when a fighter does something stupid is ****ing idiotic IMO.

ok he talked **** about his bros which was classless as well, but to stand over an obivously overmatched opponent was completely classless... look how many boxers talk ****(all of them) but that USUALLY ends with the 12 round bell...

i wish he would have hit eric in the nuts for standing over him like that... thats not classless since eric was standing over him...right.... isnt that what you all was saying justified erics BS actions, wouldnt eric have it coming...

by the way the only reason why i am on this thread is because "classless peace of sh!t" is one of my fav. sayings

Though they argued incessantly, a USBA official insisted that the rule be enforced and San Bernardino’s Velardez was declared the winner despite suffering four knockdowns and a near-riot.

As cans and other debris were tossed at Velardez, he departed the ring quickly with his father and crew and immediately returned to the safe surroundings of sunny San Bernardino.

“We will never fight in Mexico again,” said Velardez’s father and trainer Armando Velardez Sr. “It was a miracle that we won.”

Though little was said after the fight, the notorious Mexican press, which is known for putting words in people’s mouth, said Velardez had insulted their city and the Morales camp.

That made Diego’s older brother Erik Morales mad.

"I do have some extra motivation for this fight, because of what happened between my brother and Velardez when they fought and because he showed no sportsmanship during his stay in Tijuana, he disrespected our city, our fans and my brother so I will teach him a few lessons when me meet in the ring on May 3", said Morales, 26, and a hero to his native Tijuana.

Of course, anyone who really knows Velardez knows he doesn’t speak a word of Spanish, and he rarely speaks to reporters unless he knows them very well. So how does Morales know that Velardez said all of these terrible things?

Regardless, Velardez will be doing what thousands of other fighters from San Bernardino have never done, challenge for a world title.

 

This only makes me like him more. It's not tennis, you know, and when you talk crap about someone's family, its personal.
