Not as bas as 2 people from here..Eatside Boxing, the mecca of the Boxing community, voted for Wlad as p4p #1.
You know what, p4p is a very subjective issue, one might have objections with another's view, but every opinion on this one is respected imo, as long as there's an argument there to justify it... sort of. [/edit] Oh, and ESB IS the mecca of the Boxing community :deal :good
Vic has already stated he has a fight plan which does not include going for the KO with every punch. He respects Mijares skills but still thinks he will win. Mijares last two distance fights have seen SD's as for some reason the judges have gone for Navarro & Munoz who were both clearly schooled. I personally feel that Mijares will likely win a decision but not a landslide one. Darchinyan was extremely impressive last time out winning virtually every round before KOing Dmitri Kirilov. Mijares can be hit and Darchinyan's style is awkward and his crouching and head movement could make Mijares jabs miss and be countered. I do think Mijares will win 116-112 but I would not be totally surprised if he lost this one.
I went the safe route and picked Mijares by Wide UD rather than stoppage, though the latter is certainly not out of the question. If Darchinyan does manage to connect and hurt Mijares, I think he'll prove his colors by regrouping and eventually taking the fight back over. He has greatness written all over him.
usally when a skilled fighter fighte a pressure power puncher it usally ends with a lopsided UD. however i see vic akward style being the X-factor in this fight along with his power. yes Mijares is more skilled naturally bigger. but his power is not the greatest. if he can't hurt VIC in the first 3 rounds ( which i don't think he can) he will be getting hit very often. at the ended his fans wwill be left stunned wondering what was wrong with him , i.e. what he ate,was he sick, trouble outside the ring, training camp issues and so on. i see the 1st couple of rounds being feel out rounds then vic assume controll of the fight with mijares being cautious due to his supprise to vic power IMHO. vic also has underrated speed. in the donaire fight vic was losing but he wasn't being shut out. he actually had one 2 rounds to donaires 3 some had it 4-1. but his down fall was he he walked into a that right hook i believe( as Donair is a sp)that landed on the temple that put down, as he struggled to get up which showed his great heart . we was totally out of it and stumbled to the ropes. . that can happen to any fighter while throwing a punch. the x-factor ther was Donair has more power then mijares. this is IMHO
Darchynian well I like his style, it is the one I leanred. The old classic High guard American style. It was in the mode in the 50's....before Clay. One does favor one's style after all. The man ducks well too. The first two rounds belonged to the dangerous Colombian, I thought we might well have a new cahmpion until the third. 116-114 2x 117-111. Good fight proper score.
Very good post, and that scenario wouldn't shock me. Anyhow, Sweet Pea made me feel smart by making the same pick i did
Hopefully it was the right post, a dangerous Columbian fighter fighting for the Jr. Middleweight WBO Champ, fight in Germany... and the Colombian lost on points.
