No offense Mijares is a great fighter but he's a ***** and deserved what he got tonight for his fake ass touch glove cheap shot:happy :happy :happy :happy .
Vic took Mijares' confidence and rhythm away. It as simple as that. Mijares got so disoriented after that 1st round beating that he would've never gotten back in the fight, no matter what he did. Still I give props to him for continuing to fight and trying to get back in it. But I give the most props to Vic. This is the second time I've picked against him, and both those times he proved me wrong completely. I will NEVER underestimate this guy ever again. Year of the upsets indeed.
vic's unorthodox attack bewildered mijares. he couldn't defend himself effectively from punches coming from strange angles and with staccato pacing. i think disrespecting mijares, aside from being foolish, discredits vic's win tonight. if he beat an overhyped bum, that's no great accomplishment. because mijares was such a good fighter, it makes vic's win that much more impressive.
Mijares deserves a lot of respect because he is a very good fighter. He was beaten by an even better fighter tonight, though. Would Vic have got the same respect Mijares is getting, if he had lost in similar fashion, to Mijares? I doubt it. We should all learn from this fight, I think! It should teach us to be less arrogant and less superficial in our analyses, to exaggerate the qualities of certain fighters we like less and to never call someone out, because they might come back and surprise us. Just two weeks ago we had Hopkins turn back the time... Another surprise, in many people's eyes, tonight. You got to love boxing!:happy
i dont think its Mijares, but the fans who's been hyping him up as god. Mijares accomplishments are good, but putting him up on the pedestal is just crazy nuthugging...just like the rest of the nuthuggers.
Because people like you hype fighters like him up to be something they are not. **** Mijares - he blows and was schooled and KTFO. Vic destroyed Mijares. Hope we never see the overrated **** again.
Is it safe to say that Vic is not that predictable as alot of us made it out to be? He was throwing punches from different angles it was shocking. You couldn't really easily predict what punch he's gonna throw nor where and when he's gonna throw it.
No doubt. He looked really awkward in there, but even so, I was still surprised Mijares couldn't counter. He telegraphed his uppercut every time yet everytime it landed. Crazy. In a weird way, although I was supporting Mijares, it's nights like tonight that I get reminded why Boxing is the best sport in the world, however unfortunately its fans are some of the dumbest and most fickle in the world. Oh well. I wasn't one of those guys who was hyping up, throwing Mijares names down the forums throats, but I'll show some respect by having him as my avatar. In life you take some knocks, but its how you come back from it. When Mijares comebacks, and its just a matter of time because he is a true warrior, I won't rub it in anyones faces.
Great input. Forum's make sense for people who have something worthwhile to say, others need not apply. Go be productive and revise for your GCSE's or something.
I think people forget how much a few good power shots can put someone off their game. Its hard to box with your head when you know the guy has the power to hurt you bad and has an awkward approach. He also showed excellent handspeed in there.
