I agree with you. I think Hearns clearly outboxes Tito (Tito will have to work very hard to keep Hearns against the ropes) but Hoya would have skills and power to keep Hearns honest a bit but I know even Hoya gets smoked by Hearns, ko'd too.

Mayweather would be good against Hearns but he is too small. Hearns would beat him too.

How do you guys think The Hitman would have taken Zelenoff's 700 lb left hook at 147?Surelt he would have died like Creed...

This whole thread is just making me realize what a terror to the welterweight division a young Leonard would be today. :deal

And to think he was an entertaining in the ring as well. Awesome skills + Mental Strength/Intelligence + entertaining style = Sugar Ray Leonard. I miss the old days :|

Anybody have a chance at beating Hearns? Go see Paul Williams in 3-4 years, and then I'd bet you'd have an answer. Look at how far this guy has come lately.
Beating marg, losing to Quintana...Then, realizing he needs to quit slapping, and sit down on some punches. The guy blasts out Quintana in the first round, moves up to 160, and gets a pretty good knockout there.
I'm not saying in 3-4 years he'd beat Hearns, but of anybody it'd be him. Great workrate, great chin, around the same height, some power, and speed. As long he doesn't get KTFO (which is 50/50 chance to me) he COULD get a close decision.

You got a guy whos quicker, smarter and slicker. I could see Mayweather outboxing the guy and winning by UD

none. the fighters with the best chances are the ones like someone else said with the iron chin and brawling or one punch ko style, like especially a 147 prime mayorga or margarito. they would take a few shots and force tommy to fight there fight, which tommy would almost surely do as he never backed out of a fight.i wanted to mention pw, but tommy was also a killer inside fighter, where pw is not. tito would have to catch tommy a couple of times to hurt him, as he was an accumulation puncher and tommy could ko with one right hand, and i also think he had better defense than tito and beat him. he was also alot faster than tito. margarito would have the best chance of wearing him down, but tommy would probably stop him on cuts
