    Excellent thread, Rafa.

Well, with the answers you put up in the poll, you pretty much answer your own question about the possible reasons for people picking Jones to win.

Personally, I don't really give Roy much of a chance, I'd say he has about a 25-30% chance of pulling it off, based on what I've seen of him in his last fights, plus Calzaghe is obvioulsy at a much better level at this stage of their careers.

It's really only hope that makes me wanna believe Jones will win this. Honestly, though, he's got to pull off a miracle in order to beat Calzaghe right now imo.

Great athletes can sometimes pull off one last great performance...

    Foreman knocking out Moorer
    BHop schooling Pavlik
Babe Ruth hitting 3 home runs in a game one week before retiring
Michael Jordan....well, just him in general haha

    etc.

Much of RJJ's problem has been mental. Obviously his physical gifts have diminished, but if his mind is right, and his body can work well for one last time, it is conceivable that he could do it.

Roy jones is simply washed up! In his heyday he had it all; blistering speed, exquisite teqnique and a hard work effic, but its not 5 years ago. He's been beaten by glenn johnson. Now im not going to slag of the tough jamaican, but we all know he wasnt world class dont we! Now people are expected to believe jones has "A" chance. I'm sorry but im betting on jones to lose within three rounds.

That would be the fourth option. I'd say in actuality this is the second most popular reason behind rooting for Jones - but the two are tied together anyway. People don't like Calzaghe whether they admit it or not.

I like him, but he's overrated. His greatest win was beating a way past it Hopkins, and he squeezed out that victory.
