people can call Don King what they want, but the guy knows how to promote. i remember him wearing a santa clause suite greeting people in the streets

Trinidad/Jones did well because of the fellowing Trinidad has, the difference between roy and tito is like the difference between hatton and calzaghe in terms of the support

And Joe is fighting Roy instead of Kelly because it was a "given" by all the geniuses here that he would obviously make a TON more money fighting Roy? What was he offered by Arum? Was that $10 million? :rofl

Its no credit crunch, its the fact that Jones is shot and old, and most people know that this isnt a big fight because of that, no one is going to pay for it, or very few will pay for it.

I'm telling you, they have ******s running that network. There is actually a bunch of ******s running corporate America. Being dead serious, I could run HBO sports better than they guy they have there now. They seem to have very little in terms of common sense. If they applied Showtime's business model with their capital, they would be fine.

I tried to tell the Roy nuthuggers this but they did not want to listen.

Roy is not a draw and nobody in the States cares about Calzaghe.

They will end up giving away tickets to fill up the arena for television.

Let's face it, if the fight does not contain a strong mexican, puerto-rican appeal, the gates will be **** in the U.S.

Boxing should say a big ****-you to the spoiled americans who don't support the sweet science and host more fights abroad. How many times are we going to hear the "bad matchmaking" excuse from the U.S?

Don King is a promoter, most of the promoters now-a-days think that its promoting when they run a coule of tv ads starting a week out and people will line up a buy.

and the love-in between the two doesn't exactly help, the die-hards understand the mutual respect, but the majority casual fans want sound bites and threats thats why mayorga keeps getting big fights

If it is the amount of blood you are after, then I suggest you stick to MMA dude. There you will get a better deal. Alternatively the local bar district should be a better deal as well.
