What was Valuev's excuse for not fighting Vitali? I'm sure it was lame.................

JCG and Valuev come from different planets. Both are real top 10 heavyweights, so fighting one of them makes a lot of sense anyway.

JCG actually has a punch. He may carry some extra weight in comparison to his CW days, but that did not hinder him to go 12 action packed rounds vs. former EBU champ Virchis. He almost knocked the durable Virchis out! JCG is a pretty complete boxer with a huge ego.

Valuev is a threat not because of his size but because of his stamina and his jab. He knows how to score. He simply wants to win to feed his family. Do not expect him to kill someone in the ring, he simply is not interested in doing so.

So yes, why not fight JCG first and later in 2009 Valuev? All fights with a Klitschko are marketable in Germany. Add some trash talking of JCG or the "giant factor" of Valuev and you will meet the 20% TV market share target easily!

Virchis is a ****ing bum. He has never even beaten or even faced anyone at heavyweight. Thompson is superior to Virchis.

Gomez has only beaten and faced McCall who was not a contender when he fought him. In addition, Gomez got the ****ed knocked out in the first round at heavyweight for Christ sake. Toney has not been knocked out in his entire twenty year old career. Get your facts straight.

This is a very poor matchup which should not qualify as an eliminator. Why do defend these corrupt sanctioning bodies?

Toney and Thompson are both proven heavyweights. This is just ridicoulous.

Gomez-Toney, Gomez-Thompson, Toney -Thompson do qualify.

What about Holyfield who was number 5 by the Ring at the moment they fought.

What about the draw with Rahman. What his other performances.

The first Peter fight and the second Rahman fights?

Gomez has faced none of theses guys. Virchis has faced C-level competition.

    Vitali should fight Valuev.

Gomez should fight the winner of Thompson-Toney.

The winner of both fights should fight each other next year.

Diaz did show how Gomez can be caught cold and off guard... He is very good at clowning and making opponents miss by laterally out manouvering them, but Yanqui had done his homework and seen what Carlos Gomez's game was.. Juan was always in tow when i took men to spar with the Klitschkos, he was there when i took Samuel and Tony Tubbs to spar Wlad before Wk's fight with Charles Shufford.. GC would spar the Klitschkos endlessly because he was part of the old Universium setup (but i have no knowledge about any Ko of such by Vitali..) But it may have occured because those things happen in the gym, Tubbs was dropped badly in the gym the week i was with Wlad.. JC deserves the title fight but its only really because he has rejuvinated himself by cpnstantly winning Eliminators against McCall etc... But Beat Vitali.... mmmm I don't think so , his shot should have come years ago after he beat Samil Sam in NY... Its not the best match in the world , but who knows.??

What planet are you on?? Gomez has won two WBC eliminators.

Thompson is coming off a pathetic title challenge, Toney has lost two WBC elminators then got caught roiding again after a points win vs a nobody.

Prior to gomez-virchis a vast majority of posters were sure virchis would ktfo gomez. What happened Gomez gave virchis a lesson, knocked him down and seriously exposed him.

all you guys were hot on virchis due to his big right hand, now all of a sudden he is a bum:-(

    ****ing pathetic...

I honestly believe that an in-shape and focused Gomez can cause problems for Vitali.

Gomez is a legit challenger. He is an extremely talented fighter but has lacked dedication at points. He was undefeated WBC cruiser champ and defended that belt many times. At heavyweight he did get KOTFO in one round by a nobody, because of said lack of dedication. He did however beat McCall twice, beat Samil Sam when he was still undefeated and beat Virchis (who had only one loss, a close fight with Ruslan Chagaev).

He is more worthy of a shot than most of the fighters who have been getting shots in the last years.

I already made my point perfectly clear:

    1) 2 Contenders should be involved in an eleminator.

    2) Virchis has never been a contender.
