Ask yourself this. Does Calzaghe own a prime Hopkins or Jones?

 

Regardless of the outcome, Jones has proven his mettle in this fight against a great fighter at the top of his game when Roy was clearly nowhere near his prime. I never expected him to fare this well. I think it's quite obvious what would've happened had they fought prime for prime.

English Calzaghe fan, thanks. Decided not to pay for the fight, as I disagree with the principle of setanta entirely. Links to live feeds keep getting blocked, which is why people are asking. Nothing wrong with that.

 

Point taken, but ask yourself: Is calzaghe himself prime? What with all the hand breakages?

 

It was obvious before this fight was inked what would happen in their primes. Joe would win about 3 or 4 rounds at best.

Exactly my own thoughts.

 

Masturbatory argument that a fan hides behind when they know their original premise failed them so they find another to make it seem as if their guy they still like is still the greatest despite the fact he just lost.

Calzaghe is MUCH closer to prime than Jones. IN fact, aside from his physical ability, which has deteriorated a bit, he's at the peak of his powers these days skill-wise and experience wise.

 

Let's not forget Roy was already shot a long time ago...
