OK, 5 completely delusional Calzaghe fans so far. How many more will follow?

Hopkins over Pavlik was more impressive. Everyone wrote Hopkins off after the close split decision loss to Calzaghe. Pavlik was a 4 to 1 favorite and was 17 years younger.

Calzaghe over Jones was impressive, make no mistake. But he fought a man who's mentally broken, and has not fought anywhere near an elite level in five years or so.

    Both impressive.

If Calzaghe fights on, Hopkins is the logical opponent.

Hopkins and in my opinion it wasn't even close. RJJ hasn't been considered a real threat in any division since his knock out losses to Tarver and Johnson and he still managed to put Calzaghe on his ass and make a few rounds competative. Pavlik on the other hand was considered to be a VERY dangerous if albeit limited up and comer who Hopkins thoroughly dominated for 12 rounds.

Bernard's win was without question, better.

God I can't believe people ever thought Hopkins would lose to that stiff plank of wood Pavlik, let alone now rate it as impressive, Tarver would have whooped Pavlik for heavens sake, Jones would have Ko'ed Pavlik, a little perspective too much to ask?

Bhops is more meaningful, but Joe's was better.

Pavlik hardly threw a punch... well, neither did Roy - but Joe did better. However, I do think Bhopas was more meaningful although the fact that Pavlik had to come up in weight makes it less meaningful.

    Hindsight is 20-20.

The fact remains, Pavlik was the favorite going in and most people believed he would win. At 43, Hopkins put on a tactical display of genius as he administered a one-sided beating.

Calzaghe was favored over Jones! He was EXPECTED to win by most!

Simple stuff, really. How anyone can argue Calzaghe's win was more impressive seems dishonest.

The fact Jones is a proven fighter, and Pavlik was an appalling hype job, Pavlik was smaller, and Jones was bigger, than their opponents, is my basis.

Hopkins by a long shot. Hopkins was the shot old man who was going to get stopped by the dangerous young Kelly "The Second Coming Of Jesus" Pavlik. People actually thought he was going to get brutally stopped, be them stupid, its still what they thought. Hopkins turned back the clock and dismantled Pavlik.

Calzaghe was a heavy favourite against a past prime fighter with a rope-a-dope style that invited Calzaghe's flurrying style to be used to its fullest to impress the judges. Calzaghe did what he was expected to, and made it look like he was doing padwork with Roy Jones.

Still, your argument falls flat on its face. Hindsight IS 20-20.

Hopkins won a fight he was SUPPOSED TO LOSE.

Calzaghe won a fight he was SUPPOSED TO WIN.

Ergo, Hopkins had the more impressive victory.

    Simple stuff.
