It's the resume that makes the ATG. Calzaghe is an ATG, but there are many who have a much stronger resume than him, some of them have been mentioned in this thread.

At the same time, he's fighting whoever is in the division. If the division isn't very strong, it's not his fault.

He's been going in the right direction since Lacy. He took the big fights, and he's done pretty well. But to get a greater status, he will have to take more big fights, and there are a few more out there to take.

    FAIL.

Joe fought in England against English fighters a tonnes of times, and in continental Europe a couple of times. You appear to believe Wales = Europe, clearly didn't concentrate in Geography class.

Americans barely ever leave the good 'ol USA, yet all you hear from the yanks about Euro fighters is how they are protected in Europe. Hypocrisy ftw.

Even if that's the argument, there's no logical way you can put Calzaghe ahead of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sorry, there just isn't.

that depends who you fought. any gifted fighter could do that if he shielded himself from his main rivals.

don't ever use 'undefeated' or 'world champion' to defend a fighter. always look at who they fought and when.
