I go with Roy because at his peak he very well deserved the title "superman". Then one has to outweigh: Roy winning everything up to Heavyweight vs Hopkins recent fights.

RJJ achievments include wins over Hopkins, Toney, MCCallum, Griffin, Johnson, Ruiz and Tarver
also the only man to move from middleweight through to heavyweight and be successful

Hopkins, best wins are DLH, Trinidad, Wright, Tarver, Pavlik and he dominated the Middleweight division - although some say his best wins were against naturally smaller guys (DLH, Trinidad and Pavlik) even Wright at Catchweight looked podgy and fat... and was clearly not his best weight.

Hopkins has lasted better, but RJJ acheivments rate higher IMO, based on the fact that he beat both Toney and Hopkins on the way up.

Bhop. Guy is 43 and still beating and fighting good fighters. Roy has been getting his ass kicked and knocked out the last 4 years.

I think that b hops legacy will be greater
the length of his peak, and the fact that he wasnt dependent on mother nature and father time to win or lose fights

A hard one to call, lets get one thing straight first, RJJ should call it a day, he was one of the most entertaining and most talented fighters to step into the ring, but his time was up 3 years ago. However B-HOP is still a dangerous fighter, not quite as good as he was in his prime but he would cause any fighter problems, there are fights still available to him, he should get a rematch with joe and if that doesn't come of then fights against dawson and jermaine taylor could be a possibility.

They both have great legacies, and noone can dispute their achievements, RJJ is the only fighter ever to win a middlewight title and a heavyweight title, he doesn't get the credit he deserves for that. Bernard Hopkins ruled a dvision for a decade making record number of defences, he has an outstanding resume and I believe that RJJ is the only fighter ever to have beaten him.

I have them equal, two outstanding legacies and they will be compared for decades.

you can't call a resume with Hopkins, Toney, McCallum, Griffin, Johnson, Ruiz and Tarver ...full of chumps

yes, he didn't fight everyone, but fighters rarely do. BHop hasn't fought all the guys at SMW and MW who were worth fighting. There are always names going to be missing from each fighters resume. It also comes down to risk vs reward... but all of that's another issue.... Looking at records and achievements and also performances (both wins and loses)... RJJ reached a higher peak in terms of performance and acheivements.... Bhop didn't reach as high but also didn't fall as bad. Overall RJJ seals it with a long unbeaten reign which includes names like Toney and Hopkins.

Bernard defies the odds. At 43 and still going. What other rabbit is he going to pull out of his hat? As for Roy, he died 4 years ago. The best fighter perhaps of the decade. Yet, for some reason, he still does not get the respect he deserves.

Bernard took on all comers, sought challenges even as he had aged past his prime. However, Jones only did such recently when his legacy was called into question as a result of his recent losses. For me Bernard despite his loss to Jones is by far the greater fighter.

    in terms of PURE LEGACY

Right now i will go with Roy Jones still.... Im not ranking them as fighters, im rating their accomplishments, and i still think Roy has an edge (thing is... Hops can change this)

but right now... Hes beat Hopkins, Hes beat James Toney, He beat Tarver in their first fight, beat John Ruiz (who i would pick to beat JC)

    Gotta go with Roy...

You can not say the words Hopkins and dodge in the same sentence.

Jones dodges is one sentence, so often used, and so true.

Hopkins was the better Champion...being after all a 4 belt Champ; the One and Only Champion of the World.

Jones was never undisputed Champ...spent 7 years dodging DM, and never Unified at any Weight, never tried....now that is so sad....for Jones could have been some one. A real one and only Champion, but he declined the honor...in four weights.
