I honestly don't know how people don't feel ashamed of themselves when displaying his level of 'nuthuggery'. Even if I thought it, I couldn't post it. :huh
He's a good lad but i think it might go a bit beyond mere nuthuggery, no? I mean come on he's watched all Jones fights in super slow mo for goodness sakes. For starters. That's a pretty avid fan right there :hey
I love the slo-mo argument. e.g. Typical Dickhead: "watch Hagler-Leonard again in slow motion then" Me: "Nah!"
:rofl :rofl Just imagine, we could break a round into 3 or 5 segments (odd number to rid us of even rounds, i mean what excuse would we have to score any round even when watching in super duper slow mo pro Jones?)so we could keep track of our thoughts as the slow mo round progressed, lest we forget wtf happened all that time ago.
You can find my comment in this very thread. I thought Jones lost, only deserving maybe 4 rounds. But like I said, even the TV had trouble finding what to show in the replays, because of how few Calzaghe's punches to the head actually landed cleanly.
I got owned by Senya's slow mo shtick. Over Jones-Tarver III of all fights. Thank god he isn't a Bernard Hopkins fan. I literally would have taken my life after watching 24 frames for every second of Nard-Taylor I and II
Yeah i remember Sen taking you to school via the slow mo You haven't scored a fight until you've scored it slow mo!! I particularly laffed the time he showed us Jones chin hairs 53b2 and 53b3 in facial segment 3a7b2 seemed to move just pre impact and partially deflect Tarver's straight left hand. I never would have picked this up real time.
You could go get yourself a cup of coffee and would only miss a punch or two at worst in Hop-Taylor, either fight.
Thanks to our wonderful television service over here, this was the first opportunity I have had to view Calzaghe fight. I understand the guy is most likely past his best, but is that it? Really, I wasn't impressed. I don't like those pitty-pat shots that he throws. His record tells me he's better than he looked, but on the face of that particular performance it's a stretch calling him great. Jones was shot. I've never been a fan really, but it was almost sad to see how far he's fallen. His punch output was dismal and he had one punch - the right hand. Sorry to spoil the party, but I think it was a **** fight between two over-the-hill guys, with one of them being just more past it than the other guy. Boxing deserves better than stinkers like these, and so do fans who get up at ungodly hours to watch it, or fans that pay for it.
hate to jump on the bandwagon, butttttttttt. Senya can you tell us how you managed to score Tarver - Jones III for Jones?
Hi FOF, good to see you caught the match. Tho slipping and past his peak Joe is anything but "over the hill" IMO. His win 12 months ago over a Kessler i rate quite highly was superb, and his win over Hopkins recently has been made to look pretty good given Hopkins flogging of Pavlik. Joe might be the P4P number 2 on the planet, which is pretty high status for someone over the hill.
...I need to see more. The Kesslers and Laceys of this world aren't old men, so he has to be doing something right plus he beat Hopkins which clearly isn't easy to do, even now. Logic tells me he's better than he looked over the weekend, but I just didn't like the way he fought. His KO ratio isn't bad, so why all the flea taps?
He's only got 4 in something like his last 14 and 1 in his last 7. Apparently he has bad hands and his hand injuries are well documented. Someone who follows him might be able to bring us both a bit more up to speed. He's got stoppages galore his first 5 years or so but they have tapered off big.
