HBO Commentary on Saturday night was shcoking!

    Let me just say i'm a huge fan of HBO's commentary normally, its much better than Setanta and if I had a choice i'd watch it everytime. The enthusiasm they have for fights is great, I like Lampley as a commentator and I even think Steward is really good.
    One thing that annoyed me on Saturday night though, and they did this after the Hopkins vs Calz fight was going on and on about how Calzaghe was knocked down in the first round vs Eubanks!
    Kellerman said it, Lampley mentioned it too...I couldn't believe it ..I mean do some proper ****ing research ffs!
    Makes you wonder if they have actually watched any of Calzages fights before Lacey!!!
    Sounded like Kellerman was going to start crying at one point when he saw what was happening to RJJ!

    it was here as well.woodhalls good ,even if he does kiss joe's arse a lot , but the main commentator is shocking.

    I seem to enjoy the HBO commentary more, I don't know why, I'm from the UK and just find it quite amusing and that they're characters.

    I didn't start the thread to Americ bash or to say they are biased, I prefer the HBO commentary its miles better than the UK coverage and I like to see what they say from a different perspective.
    The point was they keep saying something which is bull**** over and over, and if im right i'm sure Kellerman mentioned it after Calzaghe beat Hopkins about going down in the first round vs Eubanks!
    I just found it a little frustrating, apart from that I enjoyed listening to it and found Kellermans RJJ love-in was quite funny and in contrast to the other two who were a bit more balanced.

    I prefer it when Larry Merchant is on. When hes not on Setanta is brilliant espically with Bunce. All Kellerman does is read off stats after stats

    SETANTA commentary was shittt!! all i heard was calzagheeee!!!! when roy jones landed a punch they never mentioned it!!! i radther listen to the HBO commentary they are too bias down here in UK they lick britiish fighters arses !!

    Of COURSE the HBO guys were biased. After all, Roy Jones used to sit in the booth with them.

    Your probably right mate, I think Buncey is good but US commentary is more exciting to listen to imo but at least on Setanta they tend to get undeniable 'facts' right.

    obviously they're gonna you absolute wand. it sort of comes with the territory of being british. hardly gonna cheer roy on are they? the ynk commentators never bieassed then no?
