Could easily put up a video clip of Calzaghe beating the crap out of Lacy or even previously when he knocked the **** out of Sheika and say "Prime Calzaghe"

Then show a video clip of him beating Roy Jones Jr and say "Shot Calzaghe"

3 years age difference, it's not like Calzaghe is a 25 yr old who came and beat up the 40 yr old... you know, like the 25 yr olds that tried to beat Calzaghe and couldn't.

The only fool here, is the guy who is hellbent on trying to make Calzaghe seem useless.

Calzaghe would still beat him in his prime, All the opponents in that video were guys with poor defense and slow head movement, Calzaghe is a master at both.

I can remember when SSR was shot....it happens to everyone....out side of Hopkins and Moore...well it happened to Moore vs Clay too.

Roy became a shot fighter when he did nothing after Johnson...when he did not try for a title in Cruiser. Cruiser was wide open and he would have had pick of which Champ he thought he could beat.

That was when he bacame a shot fighter...when his drive died. His legs were already shot. And he refused to work on them....running his ass off, and modern sports medicine.

So many picking Roy to win and he seeming in good shape has to mean that his win meant something. And btw he is 36.

:patsch First off there is no highlight vid of Joe in his prime that would ever come close to the shear supernatural that was Jones in his prime. Secondly. This just proves you cant judge boxing or boxers correctly. Look at Roys foot movement, his quickness to pull the trigger, his body language ect ect. Now watch the Tito fight. How he barely uses his lower body, is content to pot shot Tito, lay against the ropes, scared to pull the trigger, or knock out the much smaller Tito, even though he basically poses no threat.

Really, its not hard to see the difference if you know what to look for.

Right because Jones would just lay on the ropes like he did on Saturday an allow Joe to score his way to a UD ..Really did some of you fans follow boxing before 2005 ?

No, nothing like that at all.

Age is not the variable here. Tyson was younger than Lewis, but was shot to bits, unlike Lennox.

Roy was shot, Calzaghe was not.

That's all there is to it.

well the obvious difference in what you said is that cal-lacy was 2 years ago, and there's no obvious reason for a decline between then and now. the rjj highlight reel was mainly from approx 10 years ago (tho the ruiz fight was included) and since then rjj had his weight issues, got starched 2x, had his confidence shattered, and looked a lot different than in fights 5-10 years ago.

What do Calzaghe and Lewis have in common that can't be said for Tyson and Roy? Calzaghe and Lewis are both master strategists and adapted to win in fights they weren't supposed to win in.

Tyson and Roy were physical specimens who never really were known as strategists or tacticians.

Hopkins is probably the greatest strategist when it comes to making opponents fight his way, at 43, surprise surprise, he's not shot.

I think Calzaghe would have beaten any version of Roy Jones Jr of the 2000s. But 1994-1999 Roy Jones Jr? Mr Untouchable, and still..

The diffrence is that Calzaghe is at his peak now at 36 yr, and Roy was at his peak about 6-7 years ago. but i like Calzaghe a lot, he was great in the fight against Roy,and its an ATG for shore. I hope he will fight 4 more fights and reach 50-0.
