"And I’ve also got Amir Khan. Amir has a great left hand; very fast. He and Manny are really going at it. I wanted Amir to get his confidence back and I’m training him now too, so it’s worked out well from both sides there.

And Manny had a little bit of trouble with Amir’s jab early but then he attacks it and takes it away from him and has great results later in rounds."

Amir Khan is going to be a beast after training with Pac.

You can't train a chin but you can train how to defend it and you can definitely train how to box better and keep opponents at bay.

    It won't work.

The two cultures are so far apart it is untrue.

Most people like/dislike Khan for reasons other than race.

Call me crazy but I still rate him to be honest. Well not to much less then I already did, which wasnt that high but I was impressed by some parts of his game.

Though he has a shocking chin, he is quite a naturally gifted fighter with good, not great skills, good enough to compliment his athleticism anyway.
There is a decent chance that his mental state will prevent him from coming back but I think matched right he can get back to a fringe contender status.

He will never ever become an elite fighter because of his chin..A trinket one day is not out of the question though.

Roach has just admitted there that Pac will lose.

If he has trouble with Khan's jab, DLH will destroy!

    I most certainly do!

Between individual people there is no animosity, generally - however in general terms the two groups don't mix very well. It isn't personal, racist or anything - there just isn't much love!

Warren must have seen the potential for a cash cow, Khan is a pretty likable sort of kid when boxing isn't the subject - and as you say, the liberal lefty's see him as a chance to bridge the race gap (one which they are actually creating themselves)

Brits will support someone from their country based upon their skills and likability - not their heritage. Plenty of black/asian sportspeople have been popular before, and to a much greater degree than Khan.

He has very good skills, but a total lack of punch resistance and ring savvy. Also poorly managed - drafting in an amateur coach isn't the way to improve defence. After all, you have a headguard, and once caught clean on the chin you get a count, as opposed to ten more punches.

What liberal lefties are you talking about? The biggest backers of Khan have been Warren and the Sun, both stalwarts of right-wing, Thatcherite Britain.

It aint even a question of race, as soon as he had the silver the media jumped on his back as he was the only boxer at the olympics it was always going to happen.
So he has a dodgy beard he is a good boxer and has quick hands and power it will take him up there but never elite level

There are plenty of liberal lefties trying to bridge a 'race gap' that in truth barely exists.

Though you do point out that the Sun is a right wing paper.

The media did put him on a pedestal, making him out to be the great thing of British boxing. Winning a silver at 17 is an immense achievement, one of which he and the nation ought to be proud. However, the hypetrain didn't allow him to develop properly, both as a person and a fighter - something which was brutally exposed in his previous encounter.

I don't understand alol the hate for Khan. He's a likeable young man who won a silver medal whilst still a child, which was a fantastic achievement.

Ok, so his chin is very shaky, but that doesn't make him a bum. He knocked out Victor Ortiz in tha ams and no one calls him a bum

There is a difference between a KO in the amateurs and a KO in the pros.

One you look even the slightest bit in trouble you are waved off - whereas in pro boxing you are given the chance to recover.

Good Job they are sparring with 16oz gloves, for Khan's sake. People need to remember that sparring is sparring.
