The guy asked for examples of KO's, a few people gave the answer of a debatable stoppage. There's a difference between a KO and a premature referee intervention isn't there? (think of Calzaghe v Manfredo?) In the interests of correctness, comment justified.

A TKO has the word "knockout" in it, but it is not a knockout. Christ.

Nearly every person on this site refers to a technical knockout as a knockout either way. We don't write that this guy techinically knocked out somebody or other.

This is you at it again, with Calzaghe. It's getting really boring and I'm not the only one noticing it.

 

I agree with the stoppage if you actually watch it calzaghe is hitting him at will and he was wobbly and out on his feet from the moment he got up until the stoppage and calzaghe was landing everything he threw it was target practice.

If he hadn't have stopped it and Byron ended up in a wheel chair it's okay though ? that and byron didn't seem THAT pissed off with the decision makes my mind up.

Premature or not Calzaghe would have had him out of there the very next round or even before the bell.

Safety and well being of a fighter first because byron was a punchbag at that point.

In a fighters record TKO are considered KO;EX:40(27 ko)-0-0 not 40(18 KO-9 TKO)-0-0 so everybody considers TKO's as KO's.

When have I ever cared about public perception? I give my genuine opinions at all times. If a guy asks for examples of KOs, I give him examples of KOs and not dubious referee interventions. Check out Johnson-Ketchel. It is a far better example of what the thread-starter asked for than Calzaghe-Mitchell.
