I didn't call you ignorant, I called the argument that using age alone is ignorant; if you took it as a personal attack I apologize; you misunderstood. I think that few--if any--people think Calzaghe is a 'young hungry' fighter and I suspect you know this. I also think you know what is implied when you say that 'Calzaghe is 36, Roy is 39' as an argument that Joe is excused for fighting older fighters--namely that since they are both near the same age, they are at similar levels of competitiveness; which you and I both know is not the case.

Ya Trinidad, 10 Time World Champion Del La Hoya, Winky Wright, Glen Johnson, Howard Eastman, Jermain Taylor, Roy Jones Jr..............Thats a **** resume? I don't know what a good one is then because that has 4 Hall of Famers right there. He beat more top 10 P4P fighters then Calzaghe can ever dream of

    He didnt outbox B-Hop
maybe outslapped him but certainly didnt outbox B-Hop
Hop outboxed him, floored him, caught with the crisper shots, calzaghe landed some flurry of slaps thats the only thing that won him tht fight.

This really needed another thread didnt it? Give it another 3 weeks or so and most of these Calzaghe joy boys will drop off the map.

its wierd, all calzaghe can do is slap, yet hopkins had the help of a bias ref, had to hold all night, faigned low blows, and still couldn't beat calzaghe - what the ****s that all about? :nut

You mean like all the others he's fought? Like Hopkins and... oh wait...

Also, Hopkins was and still is a top 10 P4P fighter, infact, he's higher now than when Joe fought him (was at 7, now at 4.)

what your resume includes people who kicked his ass (jones, taylor)

howard eastman  , glen johnson who has lost 12 times :nut

and fighters who were naturally much lighter than b-hop :deal

incredible resume, you could at least put pavlik or tarver on it.

First, it is a resume; resumes include EVERYONE a fighter has fought. Second, if you think Taylor kicked Hopkins' ass, you obviously haven't watched either of those fights.

Glen Johnson is solid competition no matter who you are; add to this that Hopkins was the only person to KO him and it is that much more impressive.

Trinidad was considered unbeatable at any weight at the time, and had proven himself to be a solid middleweight.

You sure can, which shows that it is a good resume.

    Now go away.

Wow the thread starter is so sick and tired of talking about Mr. Bean that he's decided to start another thread to talk more about him?
    Very interesting indeed

You are implying that Lacy was decent in the first place. He wasnt. He was a hype job.

    Calzaghes resume reads:

    Bums, Hype jobs, OAPs.

Thank god we have Brits like David Haye who want to fight the best as soon as possible and will travel to do so.

Unlike the Calzaghes of this world who spend their best years protecting their precious "0" fighting WBO bums in their own back yard.

What a deep, original, articulate attempt at a thread this is. I'm sure I speak for all non-Calzaghe-maniacs when I say: Fail.
