Chin could be a question for Dimitrenko? Hoffmann dropped with him with a solid right hand. That chin most likely won't be tested against Krasniqi, but in the future it will be as he moves up.

Dimitrenko is intriguing because of his size and experience. One to watch.

as i remember it, it was a left jab actually. he was also dropped by koval but he got back up and won the fight. as he moves on and faces more quality opposition, his chin surely will get exposed again. but krasniqi isn't the man to do it because he is shot to pieces.

I don't know, looks like a right hand to me:

Hoffmann is a big, strong guy, same height as Dimitrenko. Maybe it says more that he got up against Hoffmann and came back to stop him than it does that he got knocked down.

I like what I see on youtube from Dimitrenko. Good movement, fairly fluid with his punches, nice looking jab and footwork for a guy who's 6' 7". The Klistscko comparisons are probably overblown, he doesn't look like that kind of athlete, but the skill set looks to be there to make him a possible solid top 10 contender.

If he beats Krasniqi there's no reason he couldn't reasonably step into some fights against guys like Jameel McCline or Tony Thompson.

yes, dimitrenko has things to like about him but he is protected for a reason. they have not made one risky move in his whole career. even krasniqi at this stage is basically a very low risk, universum knows that he is no second third klitschko, at his age wlad was already defending his wbo title and fighting more dangerous opponents. he could beat the fringe contenders like thompson, mccline, toney, guinn and barrett but each fight would be a toss up actually. i can't see him grabbing a title in the near future because he couldn't beat the likes of ibragimov or chagaev and he would get trashed against the k-bros. the only chance of winning a title is vs. valuev because the height difference is not that imposing and dimitrenko is much quicker. anyway, i'm looking forward to this fight, easy v-cash...

Dimitrenko is a young, huge HW that is just about to come into his prime, whereas Krasniqi is definitely past his best.

I believe that Dimitrenko will clearly beat Krasniqi (probably TKO beyond round 6).

It will be a real test for Dimitrenko, as Krasniqi is a good gatekeeper level opponent.

Youth and Size should triumph. Once again, it would be better for HW boxing for the young guy to win, we know Krasniqi does not have what it takes to beat the Klitschko Bros. (and Evander won't want to fight him once he's champ! ;-)

You don't see many 6'7 Heavyweights knocking out an opponent with a liver shot. I think Dimitrenko is pretty good, nice jab, massive size, footwork.

I'll have to watch this fight, it will probably improve my opinion of Dimitrenko. :)

Dimitrenko is big but thats all. His chin is pure glass and he will soon be koed.

Maybe, but what evidence suggests it? Hoffmann is no light puncher and that was a big punch that put Dimitrenko down. He got up, recovered, and ultimately won the fight.

He's only 25, a baby by today's heavyweight standards. Give him two or three or more years to really come into his own. Vitali K. didn't have his pro debut until he was 25+.

Dmitrienko was knocked down by mediocre Chris Koval, who isn't even regarded as a puncher. The ringside reports of some of Dmitrienko's other fights indicate that he's been shaken slightly by foes he shouldn't have hurt him.

These are soft signs that Dmitrienko may have a durability problem against the division's hardest hitters.

All in all, Dmitrienko doesn't seem to have the flare necessary to be a true world beater, like his ex-stablemates the Klitschkos.

The Krasniqi win looks great in the record books, as Dmitrienko beat him quicker and more decisively than anyone else has. But we need to remember that Krasniqi has been badly burned out physically and motivationally for at least two years now.

Dimitrenko will be exposed once he fights either of the Klitschko, Povetkin, Chagaev, etc.

I see him as the next Audley Harrison.

    Good post,emanuel!

Dimitrenko scored a genuine knockout victory over Krasniqui who hadnt entered the ring to collect an easy earned paycheck.
Dimitrenko had to take some good shots in round 2.
Anyway! Dimitrenko won by way of a very impressive ko.Honour where honour is due! Well done!
He seems to be ready to take on fighters of the upper echelon of his weight division.

By the way some people keep mentioning his flash knockdown against Koval in order to prove that his chin is weak.
The same people seem to forget to mention that Dimitrenko ran into one of Koval's haymaker. Most heavies, even most better ranked heavies would not have continued fighting as quickly as Dimitrenko did.Dimitrenko surely doenst have an outstanding chin, but some people are too quick to use terms like glass chin.

    Abso-freakin'-lutely correct!

Anyone that has 1 KD (or more) on their record seems to be accused of having a glass chin these days!

I thought getting up from a knockdown to beat your opponent is a good thing?

He has a chin like Wlad Klitschko, certainly below average but much better than Audley, Jeremy Williams.

His power has improved considerably, he is a fringe contender (around #20) now.
