Kessler would beat Taylor up and knock him OUT.

    Bottom line:

As long as NO American SMW fighter has even dared whisper SMW the Ring 1 Kessler's name out loud - all this "when Kessler inevitably gets his ass kicked" is just rubbish.

Yeah and that Jamaican fighter of hopkins better watch out

But I wonder how many on ESB, actually have seen more than 2-3 of kessler's fights.

I sure have no doubt, that he'll sparkle if he's given the chance.

As for Dawson....well what would be the point of trying to get the foot inside the US and fight someone generally much bigger and with greater risk???

jermain taylor now he has beaten lacy has his options open for him with regards what belt he goes for.

    he can fight froch/pascal winner

    he can fight bute

    he can fight inkin

    or he can fight kessler

or bypass and fight calzaghe if calzaghe does not retire.

if taylor decides to go for a belt then kessler is the most money and hardest fight.

personally i do not think taylor will even entertain froch if froch wins because it will be a mandatory and i do not beleive taylor would risk losing face by turning down the fight if hennessey won the purse bids.

kessler get his arse kicked ....by who.
calzaghe aint going to fight him and the only person who has a chance of beating him from mw to lhw is b hop,as kessler is made for b hops style of fighting.
so kessler needs to avoid b hop and take out smw.
when he is finished cleaning that up calz and b hop will be retired and he can step up to lhw and clean that up too,as there is nobody good enough to stop him.

Our American friends are so insular it is untrue - almost all of them are completely unable to give any European fighter credit.

If you look at Kessler - taking away the Calzaghe fight, how many rounds has he lost in his last ten fights?

Less than five, I would guess.

I think he would deal with Pavlik very easily, Taylor with his 'technical correctness' may pose more problems however. Bute simply isn't good enough to do the business, whilst a fight with Froch would be an interesting spectacle.

The hardest fight for Kessler would be Taylor, but stamina and pressure will tear Taylor up.

No, Calzaghe didn't ruin Kessler as he did Lacy. One good indication of this is that since their respective fights with JC, Lacy has not even been in a title fight whereas Mikkel has already won back his WBA SMW strap. Further, Mikkel apparently had a wrist injury heading into the Calz fight (with a surgical scar, I've heard, to back up his story) and so he can say there was something holding him back. Finally, Mikkel gave Joe a real test. Lacy did nothing but get pummeled mercilessly for 12 rounds.

Joe wrecked Jeff Lacy, exacting revenge against a lot of ignorant boxing writers and fans who had written his premature obituary via the person of his overmatched opponent. Lacy was never in the fight, took a horrific beating and had whatever false concept of 'invincibility' he and others might have ascribed to him cruelly and irrevocably shattered. Mikkel had some moments against Joe; Jeff had nothing but a visit to the canvas, a swollen eye and a ruined career. It was like Vitali - Sam Peter a few divisions down but with Lacy also getting put on his back during the fight.

When and if Mikkel loses in the future, he can't fall back on an excuse that Calzaghe ruined him as Joe did Lacy.

Kessler's ducking of Dawson is disappointing and telling. I like Mikkel but you have to tell it like it is -- he's dodging. Yes, it's a higher weight but Dawson's not the biggest LHW in the world, so I'm not buying that excuse. Dawson ducked Diaconu and he got called out for it. Have to hold Mikkel to the same standard.
