Other than Lennox Lewis Lamon Brewster - Weighed 225 when he Knocked out Wlad Corrie Sanders - Weighed 226 when he Knocked out Wlad Chris Byrd - Weighed 215 when he stopped Vitali Haye is faster, stronger, a bigger puncher, a better boxer than all those guys. I think by next summer Haye will be coming in at around 225 by next summer. He is taller than these 3 guys as well. Also these were fat 225lbs fighters.
I don't think you can read too much into Chris Byrd beating Vitali. While he showed heart throughout, he was receiving a bad beating and only won because Vitali dislocated his shoulder. Having dislocated a shoulder myself, the biggest pain is when putting back in - maybe he could have got on the bike for the last couple of rounds and fought one handed? Not sure really. I would say that Byrd has a better chin than Haye - but you are correct in pointing out that David's skillset is superior.
Vitali is a tough tough fight ( Byrd didnt reaaaally beat him ) but I'll stick with my long term assertion that Haye gies right f**king through Wlad. In fact after Saturday I would be astonished if Wlad signs to fight him , He'll hide behind big brother !
Wladimir is a better fighter now. Well, a more effective fighter at least but less entertaining. Vitali had a bad injury against Byrd, and Lennox Lewis is Lennox Lewis.
I wouldn't say Haye is a bigger puncher than Sanders, but is certainly faster and would be able to give more output. Could Vitali have continued, or are we judging him by Danny Williams standards, who continued and won a fight by stoppage with a similar injury?
Why the hell would Vitali quit against Chris Byrd unless he had serious reason to? Byrd can not hurt **** which his punches, and he was getting his ass beat. Even Byrd admits Vitali is by far the harder of the two brothers to fight.
True ehough I'm not saying Vitali was right to quit but a retirement through a shoulder injury is a pretty thin loss Also Danny only had to chase Mark Potter , Vitali was trying to hit Chris Byrd ! I don't think that shows Vitali to be gutless but it shows that when he chips are down he may decied to live and fight another day.
It does seem like they are pushing Vitali out because they know Haye could beat Wlad. I want to see Haye beat Wlad and then have a showdown with Vitali.
I think Haye could (though wouldn't) beat Wlad - but no chance against big bro Vitali. Could Vitali have gotten on his bike to see the fight through, after all he was well in front on the cards, surely?
Im not disagreeing he deserves the loss but I reckon he decided he'd rather take that than risk damaging himself more But then I dont KNOW what the thought at all I can only guess
I think Haye's agressive almost gung-ho style might pose either Klitchco a problem. I also think that neither of them is daft enough to sign-up to a fight until they've worked out how he can be beaten; which might come down to a good old-style punch out!! Haye has certinly sparked some long overdue interest in the big division and should be congratulated. Whether or not he can win the title is a different matter... I still cite his dodgy knack of taking shots and going down. But on the plus side, if he gets to his opponent first then who knows. Either way, makes for an exciting contest.
Quick hands and good power will always give him a chance against Wladimir. Vitali I'm not so sure about. On the other hand, hang on in there and keep landing and maybe he'll break something again.
