I am not trying to be subtle or show guile, not in the slightest. Calzaghe's resume is feeble considering he has been a world champion for over 11 years, Jermain Taylor's is comparable despite him only being a world champion for 3 years. No subtlety, no guile, just opinion.
lol what are you talking about... its a vote... you vote for who you think has a better resume... if i wanted to force an idea into your head i would have made a thread stating "jermain taylors resume is stronger than calzaghe" i made this thread so people can have a discussion about who "THEY" think has a better resume lol i didnt say whether he was going to win or not... im just saying if he beat pavlik there would have been nowhere for jermain taylor to go except fight calzaghe again... or maybe get another rematch with winky
Taylor didn't beat winky. Why is Peter Manfredo in Calzaghes section over fighters like Robin Reid, Charles Brewer and Byron Mitchell?
I accidentally cliced Taylor but meant Calzaghe... I think you have to take into account how the "great" fighters were beaten, as well as at what stage of their career they were... Also I love the way Manfredo is put on the list and other much better fighters aren't... Are you suggesting Calzaghe fights Taylor next?
This thread is hilarious. Taylor deserves credit for 2 wins over B-Hop, but other than that he has looked awful against the likes of Ouma and Spinks (both small and ****), and could easily have lost to Wright who is not a middleweight, and he has been soundly beaten twice by Pavlik. Calzaghe wins this by a distance.
So if you're trying to be fair what are Bika and Manfredo doing in Calzghes list? He has Brewer, Mitchell, Reid, Woodhall who are all obviously better fighters than the ones you listed. It not even close.
How is Pavlik a great fighter and not Kessler? Pavliks barely beaten anyone of any note and got dominated every second of every round vs Hopkins.
Don't even bother. It is obvious that people posting such drivel are haters and therefore won't issue credit impartially.
Calzaghe's by a distance. Especially since Taylor should have 4 losses on his. When you lose to Kelly Pavlik twice it badly affects your resume. That's an awful double loss to have.
Length of title reign is irrelevant in this question though, its who has the better record. Its obviously Calzaghe, not even close.
It's not about record it's about resume. Resume-wise it's close, and the fact that Calzaghe has had almost 4 times as long to build his resume reflects terribly on him.
You need to re-read the first post in the thread. "Not Talking About Accomplishments. Ignore accomplishments ( calzaghe's undefeated record & championship reign, Jermain Taylors Championship belts achieved) Just Straight Up Who has Beat More Talented Fighters?"
no.. i saw the comparison in another post and decided to make a thread about it If jermain taylor deserves a loss to bernard hopkins... you could debate that calzaghe does as well
