Would the outcome be same as it was in 2002 ?

And even in 1996 before he fought Evander Holyfield would he still beat lewis ?

Say after 1997 Mike Tyson wouldn't have a chance ? Thoughts please .

I feel the 2002 version of Tyson was gifting lewis that victory, but it would be a different story if it was 5 years before etc .

91' was way too early for Lennox to face Tyson. Lennox matured in so many ways over the years.

Tyson would have battered and possibly ruined Lennox Lewis in 1991. Lennox wasnt ready and he'd likely be intimidated.

    Anytime from 1988-1992 Tyson clearly.

    1995-1997 even money

    1998-onwards Lewis.

Mike was still very aggressive in post-prison and may have been able to shake up Lewis with a shot, but it is a pretty even fight.

Tyson has to be the heavy favorite over 1991 Lennox, who was nowhere the beast he would become 5-10 years later.

    Even post-Douglas Tyson.

Lewis was something like 15-0 in 1991. It would have been way, way too premature to face Tyson at this stage, who was still very formidable at that time.

Lewis busted him up in catskills in the early days, so who knows what would've happened.. '91 was bit too early for Lennox though.

Pretty much. Prime for prime I have no doubt Lewis would take it. He figured Mike´s style out as long back as in the early 80s and knew what he has to do to beat him.

From everything I've heard they traded punishment back then, neither having a huge advantage.

true but nevertheless Lewis got out with an advantage. On the first day Tyson beat Lewis up. Lewis said he expected a sparring session and Tyson went out to kill him. He adjusted over the next 1-2 days and the last few days he beat Tyson up. so, Lewis learned back then how to cope with Tyson´s style.

Any version of Lewis from about 94/95 or so onwards (till '01) beats a prime Tyson in my opinion, though it'd be a close to even fight.

Too early for Lewis I think, Tyson may not be looking as good by then but I think Lewis would need the patience and Manny of later years.

Incorrect. By all acounts, Tyson was the one who busted Lewis up during theose sparring session. Granted, Lennox may have comeback & even got the better of Tyson in sessions after that, but I doubt he busted him up.

Anyway, we cannot draw any conclusions from those sparring session because both guys got better after those sessions. However, in respect of them facing each other in 1991, all one has to do is listen to the commentary for Tyson-Ruddock 1.

Lewis was part of the commentary team & Ian Darke asks Lennox when he feels he would be ready to go in there with the likes of Tyson & Ruddock & Lewis says about 12-18 months, so Lennox even admits he wasn't ready at that time.

Tyson would have overwhelemed him big time.

    Lewis would say that,though,wouldn't he?

Does the sparring footage of them together exist?
