Assuming the alphabet champs and their mandatories are not available and Haye is still one or two fights away from a title shot:

    Who's next?

id like to maybe see him fight tony thompson. it would be a nice test for him and good practise against a taller fighter like the klitchkos . also if he was to do a better performance than wlad then that would certainly add to the build up for their possible fight

Peter would be a good challenge without being too much of a threat at this stage

James Toney why not?Voted for him cuz it would have a funny pre fight build up and it's been ages since I saw a completely out of sape tab of lard vs a extremely fit guy from a physical form.

Out of that list I'd say the winner of Toney-Thompson, in an eliminator.

As Mcline's not there and Thompson is fighting tony I would of voted for Ray Austin but accidently clicked on Eddie Chambers

i picked peter, but i really should have picked thompson. because peter will have the chin and power to test haye like he's never been tested before. nothing more harder to overcome than a powerful dude who doesn't get hurt easily. it will test his stamina if nothing else.

but thompson would be ideal as he survived to the 11th against wladimir only recently, and is also of similar height and reach. however thompson is also safer like monte because he doesn't have dangerous power, so a good learning curve for haye.

but in the perfect world i would have preferred haye to test himself against alex dimitrenko. dimitrenko is a solid contender who is about to challenge for a world title, is also slightly larger than klitschko, but doesn't punch or move as fast as wladimir. dimitrenko is also young whereas thompson is not going to get any better.

i know what would happen to stop it though. hayes team would say "who is dimitrenko?" (never mind the fact that dimitrenko is now the mandatory for the who i think) and dimitrenko's team would say "we are going to sit on our mandatory status and not take any risks".

so it will never happen but i think this fight and the thompson fight, are the only two fights that will givie haye anywhere near the experience he needs to face wladimir. guess another wladimir victim, jameel maccline is an okay choice.

ultimately though wladimir is on a different level to everyone else so haye will still get a shock when he gets in the ring with him

If Haye really wants to fight the Klitschko Brothers he needs to fight someone that is tall like McCline to prepare for what he will be facing.

I really like the thought of him trying Dimitrenko.

I think haye - Toney is the most interesting match there, but i think itd be best if Haye faces a Russian before going in with a Klit....

    These would be fine choices:

Sultan Ibragimov - Former Champ w/ Only 1 Loss
Tony Thompson - Good, Tall Boxer
    Sam Peter - Good Power
    Ray Austin - Barely Acceptable
Eddie Chambers - Good Defensive Fighter w/ a Good Chin
    Taras Bidenko - Barely Acceptable

These choices would be unacceptable IMO:

James Toney - Old, Fat & Shot
Oleg Maskaev - Old, Slow & Shot
Matt Skelton - Old, Slow & Not Near Top 10
Danny Williams - Is He Still Fighting?

That could be a good test for both. I like the idea.

From those I picked Tony Thompson.

But it should be Jameel McLine. Not much power but enough to drop Sam Peter three times. Big guy but not actually that dangerous, though of course Haye has a fairly weak chin anyway.

    If not him, then Dimitrienko.

Haye really is a HW Nigel Benn! Read a bit about him on another site where he says as soon as he's buzzed he just plants his feet and throws bombs.

With that power, there'll be no way to be safe then to dump him in the middle of the ring, unconscious.

I say Wlad freezes up and gets pulverised. Haye gets a bit too confident, fights Vitali....Haye's bombs do nothing and Vitali punishes Haye over five one-sided rounds, then ends his career.

    And I'm a Haye fan :)
