As if that even matters you hateful *****. Beristain has raised champions from the ground up and it is not up to us to question his training methods, nor Freddy Roach's. Stop hugging Roach's balls just because he trains Pacquiao, the truth of the matter is that he been acting like a complete jerkoff with everybody outside of his gym.
i just watched the video. If Nacho really did what Roach says he did, which wouldn't surprise me, then he is probably a classless ***** and sore loser. That doesn't change the fact that he's a great trainer.
see the post above you. that will answer why roach has been acting like a complete "jerk-off" according to you. and roach said that comment in the thread title due to nacho saying such a disrespectful and classless thing to him first. just watch 24/7 again. beristain made a comment there that he takes losing and failure very hard and personal. that's probably why he made such a disrespectful comment on roach. he probably has a personal vendetta against roach ever since that draw and loss of jmm to pacquiao.
no doubt beristain is a great trainer but he's also an A-hole for making such a classless and disrespectful comment. just proves what a sore loser he is especially when both rafa and jmm lost one after the other. he was quoted as saying that there was a grand conspiracy against him and the marquez bros.
Yeah, Nacho's probably a jerk. Freddie's no angel too, I bet. But I dont mind that. I like crazy trainer dudes. Norm Stone is hilarious. So is Floyd Sr. How would you like Rocky Balboa's trainer, Mickey as a nice and polite old dude? We need characters. Boxing is showbusiness too. We need controversy sometimes.
:-( In case you have been living under a rock, Roach has been saying very classless and disrespectful things to a number of people and fighters since last year. This is not the first incident.
I don't blame the tough feelings. After all, Nacho trained JMM against Pacquiao twice in two fights that were too close to call. That actually is another advantage of Oscar's, really. Nacho knows how to fight Pacquiao.
Nah....I think there is a mutual dislike between Trainer vs Trainer in this relationship. And yes....Nacho has been pretty salty about the two wins for PAC vs his fighter in JMM. I agree that Trainers get their emotions tied up with their fighters and they begin to justify or exuse why they lost or how they thought they should have won. It happens all the time in boxing unfortunately. Some boxers just don't know how to loose respectfully or give credit to their conquerors. Regarding Roach "running to his Mommy".....I just don't see it. I just see a man who spits venom when prevoked. Like DLH blaming Roach for his Mayweather loss.....DLH can blame Roach all he wants...it's his right and his opinion but Roach has a right to act human and take offense to that remark b/c he feels he did his job and DLH didn't execute for a full 12 rounds. So it's a bit of bad blood between Roach and DLH as well. But I don't see anyone crying like a baby more so than Roach responding in an aggressive manner due to someone questioning his abilities as a trainer. Pointing fingers have been going back and forth which is understandable.......they are premoting a pretty substantial fight so any little area they can highlight and entice the publics interest of course they are going to use the media as an outlet to promote the "Sizzle". Business as usual. Nacho was the one who said something pretty nast to Roach in the past in Spanish where Roach has to get a transalation.....What Nacho said wasn't exactly in good taste and they weren't premoting any fights. So I do understand why Roach is freely using his words to jab back at Nacho...it makes it a bit more interesting since it's helping the build up to the fight....if they were just going back and forth without any fight looming that they had any stakes in....that would be childish and showing lack of integrity. I agree about diplomacy......but this has little to do with diplomacy and more to do with a lack of respect from professional boxing trainer to professonal boxing trainer. Whether or not the joke or comment was made in good taste or meant to be offensive is neither here nor there. The comment was said...Nacho didn't use diplomacy in that regard and Roach didn't use diplomacy when talking on that particular point. Bottom line is both men are outstanding and highly regarded trainers and they got a bit of beef given their history. But a lot of these comments are due to promoting this fight and gaining some buzz since PAC himself isn't much of a trash talker and neither is DLH for the most part. They needed some interesting dynamics pushing this fight and it just so happened to come from the corners of the two fighters.
He could have been.....the relationship between a trainer and a fighter is essential and what is just as important (At this level) as how the trainer teaches and his method of execution is the chemistry between the two. Depending on if PAC had a better connection or relationship with NACHO than he did ROACH would be the defining factor on who would have produced a better fighter. If JMM could have a better connection or have that special kind of chemistry between fighter and trainer JMM could have been better than he is with Nacho. PAC is an amazing fighter as is JMM. Both Roach and Nacho must be doing something right. TO say one is better than the other or one is over rated isn't justified given the accomplishments and history that says otherwise.
Which is exactly why we should'nt take what Roach say's as the gospel. Roach is setting a bad precedent, with him badmouthing anyone who does'nt cling to his nuts, that you wonder if he's being truthful with some of the things he's saying. Listen, I would'nt doubt that Nacho could be nasty, but I just have'nt seen or heard the man myself do that through the media..... .....somethings are just better left unsaid. ....the worst that I've heard coming out of Nacho's mouth was when he was asked about the possibility of extracting revenge for JMM and all the mexicans that have sucumbed to Pacquiao......to that he laughed and said, "I'm not training DLH to extract revenge on anyone. JMM does'nt need anyone to avenge him. He already beat Pacquiao twice. The differerence is that Marquez does'nt have the promoter that Pac has that has the judges under the palms of his hands." .....and that is'nt dissing Pac, its dissing Bob Arum, who btw I'm sure Nacho can find alot of nastier things to say about him, but holds his tongue, and lets the educated figure it out for themselves. ....and its not even just about just being nasty against his rivals for Roach......what the hell is going on with him? Is he losing his mind??? Did anyone see a couple of articles a few weeks ago on BC.com? It seems that someone who used to hang around the wildcard gym is suing Roach for assault. If I remember correctly, Roach had a few of his cronies hold this guy down while he physically assaulted him!atsch
I agree with DLH......DLH is the biggest finger pointer and excuse maker there is in boxing. Roach would'nt hold a candle to him. ......The mud slinging going on between Roach and DLH could very well be part of the promotion hype. Roach however should keep a personal incident that happened with Nacho (if it in fact occured) and that has nothing to do with boxing specifics, he should keep that to himself if he did'nt have the balls to settle it with Nacho. .....bringing something like that out to the public is something a kid would do. I just cant respect that.
this incident doesn't change my respect for beristain as being a great and legendary trainer. but it does somewhat change how i view him as a person. but like somebody said here, great boxing trainers also have their own eccentricities and peculiarities. the mayweathers obviously do, roach does and this is probably nacho's. no matter how you view them as people, there is no denying their great talent in training boxers and as boxing fans we have to fully respect them for that.
