Vitali first most definitely and fighting at under 230 lbs... High pace and power-hitting from all angles and Vitali gets a real physical test very much unlike Wlad.
Regardless of the outcome... I really wish more heavyweights had the dedication to staying in shape and wanting to fight the best around that Haye did. It's very notable that those that do tend to be around the top of the tree. While the others not so bothered make up the ranks, complaining about not getting their shots.
He probley saw Haye get beat by a that forty year old man that beat him. Also he will get killed if he fights Vitali.
Wlad wants to box against Haye. And first Vitali had to make his mandatory Juan Carloz Gomez. You cannot compare Samuel Peter of 2005 to Samuel Peter who fight Vitlai. In 2005 Peter was in much better shape. Haye is very fast and Vitali is older and much slower than he was in 2004. He won against Peter, but against Haye it will be another fight. Wlad punches harder and he is more fast and skilled than Vitali. I believe Haye will box against Vitali because Haye knows he had a chance against him but not against Wlad.
Haye knows what he is doing. Sort of. First off, anyone who looks back more than 2 fights knows that Wlad has the better boxing skills when he chooses to use them. More importantly under steward he will use his height and reach while fighting defensively and take Haye apart from range with his jab and occasional bombs. That style plays to Hayes weaknesses. Vitali is more aggressive at this stage and while dangerous will open himself up more for counter shots. While I believe Haye will be blasted out even quicker by Vitali, he has more of a chance to land his own bombs which he is overconfident in. Still. I won't fault him for his attitude.
My opinion is that Haye realized he can get exposed vs anybody on the top ten, and understands that a sloppy or shaky performance, let alone a loss, will ruin his big money fight vs a Klitschko. Therefore, his plan is to scream his head off for either Klit (read: big money payday) in hopes of getting one of them before he ends up looking bad in a fight he isn't getting bank. I don't give him much of a chance vs either Klitshcko, not even much of a chance to make it the distance. I am intrigued to see who he will fight next. I will be impressed if he takes on someone in the top ten. How about Dimetrenko? Ha ha. That would be Bye Bye Mr Haye :hi:
Could be a GREAT fight. I think Vitali-Haye would have a lot of fireworks. But I also think people really underestimate how tall Vitali is before they get in the ring. He is at LEAST 6'8"..
You do realize that VITALI is the counter-puncher of the two brothers and WLAD is the aggressor? The only person I can recall Vitali not trying to counter-punch was Byrd and to some degree Lewis.
I will give him credit for having balls if he takes on vitali first. He is right when he says that by beating vitali he would get more credit than if he beat wladimir. The only hard part is beating vitali
Haye isnt going to be able to find anyone like vitali to spar with. He isnt going to know what he is up against until he gets in the ring with him. Vitali has slowed down but his reflexes and timing are great. I expect to see that "oh **** what was I thinking" look on Hayes face when they zoom in on him between some of the early rounds. Its going to be a lot harder to land on Vitali than he thinks and he will get countered all night. Vitali will be landing plenty the way Haye keeps his hands low.
If Vitali disposes of Gomez, he should go after Valuev, get that WBA belt. Haye should fight once more, Iggy or someone, then fight Wlad. If he beat him imagine the ****ing superfight Haye-Vitali would be. Revenge for Vitali, beating the guy who beat his brother, for the True undisputed HW championship of the world, all 4 belts involved.....Black vs White, Rusian vs Westerner... It would be the biggest fight since Lewis Tyson bar none. ****, makes you get excited just thinking about it.
