Any man, regardless how low he is, is more worth than an animal.

The fact that men consciously DO the things that drop them into such low positions and esteem disqualifies them from being worth any more then an animal.

Animals don't get up in the morning with the intent to ****, murder and or torture other animals. You can fully allocate blame onto humans when they make internal decisions to be such pieces of ****.

Where does that blame fall, and what consequences are there for the people who do such things?

Agreed. Fred West or Jeffrey Dahmer (to name two really rotten eggs) worth more than an animal?
    No way.

Dogs are capable of heroic actions. They've saved lives, been selfless, and they're loyal to no end.

The **** does a ****** or a murderer have that would make them inherently worth more then a dog?

We're glorified animals. Thinking that simply being human qualifies you as being worth any more then another specifies of animal is delusion.

I hear you. I prefer the company of animals to humans most days, if I'm honest.

Dolphins, chimpanzees nad a few others are known to do things like that. Chimpanzees even go to war. Those things come with intelligence it seems.

Animals are just that animals. Humans have a sentient and this sets them apart from any animal. They maybe murderers, rapists or worse, they still stay humans while dogs still stay animals.

Get back to me when chimps manage to kill hundreds of millions of one another within the span of a century, and enjoy themselves while doing it.

And yes, dolphins, chimps and other animals are easily worth more then the scum of society.

Sentience sets us apart all right. It makes our wrong doings all the more evil and calculated.

So, it´s not bad when some chimps exterminate another chimp group just to extend their territory or when they hunt and kill smaller apes just for fun. they do these things you know. Or Dolphins who hunt bigger whales to beaches so that those die there just for fun.

If you think that´s in their nature and humans aren´t much different to animals, well, why would it be crazy to assume the self destructive behaviour of humanity is THE human nature?

Yes, it does and it also makes us worth more than any animal.

    This is silly.

There is no good and evil in the animal kingdom, so judging an animal on it's actions is a bit daft.

Not? But what is it then with chimps raping and hunting and killing animals just for fun - they don´t eat them or anything, they are also not rivals, it´s just for fun - or Doplphins bringing down bigger whales by forceing them on a beach without touching them after that. They do these things just for fun.

What makes you think it's for fun? How could anyone possibly know that?

Well, why would they kill a ape who isn´t a rival and who they have no intent to eat? Same for the doplphins and whales. Simple logic. I saw more than one documentation where they said so. Also, chimps **** their females. There are homosexual Doplphins btw.

Well, but that´s not the point. The point is there is a difference between animals and humans and that´s sentience. Every beeing with a sentience is worth more than one without. :bart

As a civilized human being you are expected to act differently to a wild animal whatever that animal's actions may be.

It doesn't particularly bother me that a man like McClellan was into dog-fighting. Besides, everybody knows his buddy Roy Jones Jnr really likes his ****-fighting.

Human beings slaughter hundreds of millions of sheep, cattle and pigs every year(they say pigs are more intelligent than dogs, don't they?).
Presumably,by the standard of their counterparts in the wild, most of these animals live miserable lives in cramped and confined conditions.

I suppose people would say that cruelty to animals for fun is a separate issue from killing animals for food, though I guess some people here would blanch at being served horse meat in France or dog meat in Korea or China.
