I'm pretty sure the list got edited by the poster. Origionally Lazcano was much higher as well.

Yeah that would have been a really good excuse if you hadn't quoted the post you were replying to :thumbsup

If he edited it after it wouldn't edit your quote!

Well if you press 'quote' it will quote the updated/edited version, even oif the page you are on shows the origional. Granted the updated version presents in the reply your making, but I didn't look at that. Or perhaps I really just can't count to 4. Believe that if you like.

    Depends on the performance.

Malignaggi on his own is a good value name to beat, but there's a world of difference between being the first guy to knock him out, or a scrappy dubious split-decision win for example.

Imo it would rank the same as the Callazo win, if e wins clearly then obviously i would be seen as a bit better.

    PM UD.

I simply think Malignaggi is ordinary, and pretty much (though not quite) made to order, for Hatton to look good.

Slick fighters aren't supposed to be hittable!

Ben Tackie gave Tszyu a decent fight a year earlier and lost a UD, similar scores to the Hatton fight.

Phillips was a top class operator, and in truth a natural welter. He was the first man to put Hatton in serious bother - but Ricky's performance on the night was excellent.

There is some truth to a few of the things you say but still I think you underestimate Paulie.

I understand the underrating him on 'form' argument, as he didn't look good in his last outing. But there is no reason to suspect that to be the start of his decline since he's young.

He's going to be incredibly pumped for this fight and if he brings his best fight - the one that blitsed Ndou the first time and fought a war with Cotto - that's quite a different entity to anything Hatton has beaten before. Certainly it's above the challenge of a 39 y.o. Mitchell or a Ben Tackie. Tackie lost every round against Tszyu and won maybe 3 or 4 against Hatton. He is the definition of a B level fighter.

Hatton's form is inconsistent as well, and of late he's showed signs of a permanent slump / past prime.

Keep in mind this fight is not taking place in England, it's in America, and twice of the times Hatton has fought there he got KO'd once and won a dubious decision for another. He will have to fight a heck of a lot better than he did against Callazo to win this one.

IMO this fight will be a good indicator of how good Hatton really is. I've always had my doubts about him; His resume has always been a bit behind his rating. This will be a legitimate test and if he passes it I say it vindicates his reputation.

Pauile might turn out to be 'made to order', but that is only one of a number of possible scenarios. The opposite could play out, as it usually does when a boxer takes on a brawler. You might find Paulie beating Ricky to the punch all night, using guile and movement to take Ricky out of his game.

Anyway we will see what happens. You might be right in which case I will give you and Hatton due credit.

For me it's a toss up.

A win over Malignaggi would be Hatton's 2nd best win by quite some distance.

he won a close fight not a dubios descision, and he's also fought 4 times in the US, mayweather, collazo, the ko of castillo which however over the hill you think he is, was a great ko of someone who's never been ko'd before and a easy UD against urango.

I definately disagree with that. By no stretch of the imagination is Paulie better than Collazo. That fight took place at WW which makes it an even better win. I'd put the Paulie win 3rd or 4th, which is sad when you think about it.

I think the most cherrishiable memory of Hatton will be the time he got to be part of the Mayweather Experience..
