Hatton vs Malignaggi Prediction Thread

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by See Me Flow, Nov 21, 2008.

  1. Hatton will win a very close decision maybe even split, no KO for either guy here, both guy's will mostly box, grab, hold, neither one cuts easily, and Maliggini has proved his toughness fighting with a broken jaw with Cotto, if Miguel didn't stop him Ricky wont:-( and Bayless is the ref, he won't panic and stop it to quick..
I wouldn't bet against a controversial decision either, opening the door for a rematch..

Lock me down for Hatton wide decision in the 9-3 variety.

I'm pushing Teddy Atlas in terms of poor picks so this means the fight will be AT LEAST a little more competitive.

I think Hatton will win a UD 116-12 or maybe even by TKO in rds 10 or 11.
Frankly Malignaggi was appalling in his last fight, particularly as he was fighting a guy he beat easily in their first meeting, and who was on the slide at 37 yrs old, and possibly even having trouble making weight (as he has moved up to welterweight in his next fight). OK Malignaggi has problems with the braids etc, but still he was clearly hurt by Ndou but as N'Dou was so slow and only throwing single shots he was unable to capitalize. Hatton WILL be able to capitalize if he has Malignaggi in trouble. Malignaggi has been riding the wave of his brave performance against (a weight drained) Cotto for too long. I do believe we will see a better Malignaggi than in his last fight, but I also believe Hatton will be improved too. Therefore I see a clear 116-112 win for Hatton on the scorecards, but if he can really pressure Malignaggi I believe he has a decent chance to force a stoppage, but Hatton will need to still be able to come on strong in the latter rounds to do this.

I like Hatton and would love to see him get the KO tonight.

That said, Malinaggi has a slick style that will be a problem for Ricky. I think Paulie will stay on his bicycle and land enough clean shots to outscore Ricky.

Ricky's stamina has been questionable lately. If he doesn't KO Paulie within 6 rounds, Malignaggi gets the decision.

In the Lovemore fight, the weave was Paulie's toughest opponent.

I think Hatton is ready for the taking, and Paulie has all the tools to beat him.

    Malignaggi wide UD
